Enlightenment

I'd been knocked down once too many;

Lying on the hard ground, I grieved;

Tears blurred my vision, but I could still see

I was in a time of hardship and need.

But that was long ago,

When I felt like there was no hope;

Now that I have learned the truth of God's Word,

I have the strength and will to endure.

There is no need to look back

On the memories of the past;

When you know what you have today

Helps you make it through every day.

In the face of suffering and pain,

On this earth full of chaos and hate,

I shall not be deterred;

Until the end, I will endure.

My feelings of sadness and hurt

Will not stop me from staying alert;

No matter what it takes,

I will win my race.
