scarletts pov 

"elizabeth listen to me. you are the mother y/n has always needed. y/n needs you as much as you need her. take it from me you never know if you are are good mother or not so the most you can do is hope and y/n is already such a sweet girl so your doing amazing" i told the younger woman holding bother her hands in my own. 

"i feel like nothing i do is helping her" the brunette said beginning to compose herself.

"and thats what i felt like when i first had cosmo, nothing soothed him, nothing worked. but you will get past this. you both love each other so much and you need each other" it felt like the words were finally sinking into the woman so i stood up and pulled her up with me. "you got this babe" i hugged her tightly. 

"how bads my face" she asked wiping her eyes again. i gave her a smile and she sighed. 

"go have a shower freshen up and then maybe y/n will be back" i said causing her to spin around in panic. 

"WHAt where is she, when did she leave" lizzie said panicked. 

"she said she needed to go on a run, evans is with her dont worry" i comforted her by rubbing my hands up and down her arms. 

"shes not allowed to run on her foot" she said now very concerned for her daughters safety. 

"you go shower and relax, ill call evans and tell him to bring her home" 

y/n pov

i took a deep breath looking either side of the house before just starting to run. i needed something to focus on. a second later i heard the front door slam shut and spun around seeing evans come after me. 

scarlett probably sent him. i kept running, i knew that man had stamina so if i had a baby sitter atleast i could still do what i needed to do. 

i dont know how long i was running for but rain started to fall and i heard thunder in the distance. 

"Y/N COME ON YOULL GET SICK" evans ran putting in his energy to run up to me. 

by now i had made it to a park and we took shelter under the thing there. my ankle was killing me but it was worth it. it felt good to be able to fully move again. the sun was setting over a lake near the park and it was quite beatiful. 

"so... why... the need...for...a run" he said catching his breath. i mean the poor guy was probably trying to relax before he got sent after me. 

"i needed to get out i dont know" i said also catching my breath. he nodded and i rested my head on his shoulder. an understanding silence between us. 

but suddenly his phone started to ring at the same time the rain got heavier. "yeah im with her...no shes fine...were outta the rain...what...yeah by a park...okay...bye" i looked at him with a raised eyebrow "scarlett was asking were we were, shes driving to come get us because you are not supposed to be walking long distances on your foot let alone run" he answered and i nodded. "quick before she gets here, wanna dance in the rain" 

i nodded again and he pulled me from the shelter seats and into the heavy rain. everything seemed to wash away. it calmed my mind and everything felt okay again. but then we heard a car honk and saw scarletts car pull up. we shared a look before rushing to the car and he told me to sit in the front. 

"i wont tell your mother" scarlett said seeing my scared expression. i nodded thankfully and it was only a 5 minute drive home. "chris thanks for chasing her" she said as he started to get out of the car. 

"thank you for picking us up" i said as i got out of the car. 

"no problem hun, but get changed before your mother sees this" she laughed and we went inside. i went upstairs quickly and walked back into my room. dahlia was awake now and was just laying in bed on her phone. 

"where have you been" she asked opening her arms for a hug before realizing my clothes were wet. 

"went on a run" i said facing away from her as i got changed quickly.

"i thought you wernt supposed to run" 

"im not" i answered turning around and sitting down on her lap. she hummed and wrapped her arms around me. i rested my head on her shoulder and took a deep breath. 

she kissed my cheek and held my body rocking us back and forth. "i need to go talk to lizzie again. are you staying here or going downstairs?" i asked and she said she will come downstairs. 

so we walked downtstairs and i saw scarlett and lizzie sitting in the kitchen with a warm drink in their hands. they saw me and scarlett got up giving lizzie  a short side hug. 

"im sorry" we both started at the same time. 

time skip to after 

3rd person pov. 

the storm continued and it rained heavily outside the mother daughter duo sat on the couch watching the bridge to terabithia. y/n was laying practically on top of her mother as lizzie ran her fingers through the teens hair. a couple more people had joined their movie and it was a very calming end to a rollercoaster of a day. 

"thank you lizzie, for everything"
