MAXINE AND BRADY lay down on brady's bed, her fingers running through his soft brown hair. his head rests on in her stomach while he scrolled through instagram.
"hey maxine." brady spoke up, lifting his head up to look at his girlfriend. to brady, being able to call maxine his girlfriend is like winning the lottery.
"yeah?" she puts her phone down to look at him since he sounded pretty serious, trying to shake off the nervous feeling in her stomach. did she do anything wrong?
"if you don't mind me asking, who's oliver tam and why does he keep commenting on your instagram posts? i've heard about him from xochitl but i want to hear it from you."
maxine's heart dropped at the mention of her toxic ex-boyfriend, a frown being put on her face. brady seemed to notice as he tucked a loose strand behind her ear.
"you don't have to tell me, pretty girl. i trust you completely." he gave her a reassuring smile, all brady cared about was maxine's happiness and how comfortable she is. if she's even the slightest uncomfortable with something, he'd shut everything down to make sure she's comfortable.
"no, i'll tell you it's just a hard topic to talk about." she sighs, running a hand through her hair. maxine sat up and tugged on the end of her shirt. "oliver is my ex, you probably know because of xo or walker."
she pauses for a moment, pursing her lips. brady reaches over and intertwines his hand with hers, drawing invisible patterns.
"that relationship was just all around toxic. he wouldn't allow me to do anything unless he was there and he isolated me away from my friends. it was really, really bad." she explains, looking down at their intertwined hands.
brady frowned. how could someone be that stupid to fumble maxine? how could someone treat the sweetest girl ever like absolute shit?
"that's why i'm not used to a healthy relationship with a boy." maxine admitted, looking into brady's eyes. "but i'm willing to grow and learn with you."
brady smiles, letting go of her hand and putting it on her cheek. he leans in and presses his lips on hers, maxine smiles into the kiss, bringing him closer.
he pulled away, leaning his forehead on hers. "that boy was stupid enough to even let you go maxine."
