Chapter 15

Let me inform you of something. Trying to put on clothes while having a huge cast enclosed around half of your leg, is pretty damn hard. I was jumping around my room, trying to tug my pant through my leg, miserably failing every time. Giving up, I just wore a skirt and headed out the dorm. The school will understand why I'm out of the winter uniform.

It was a chilly day at school, so wearing a skirt wasn't very ideal. A perverted breeze would come along every few moments and whip up my skirt and then, every few minutes, there would be an asshole who block the hallway and stand their ass right in front of me.

"Excuse me, girl with a broken leg coming through" I yelled irritably at the dude, who looked at me in surprise before hurrying away. The bell rang suddenly, signaling the start of period 1.

Double P.E

Luckily, having a broken leg had it's advantages. I didn't have to do any sports. Limping through the gym doors, my eyes locked with the one person I was avoiding.

Nathaniel.

I quickly looked away, at the same time he did, and limped over to Mr Goldman.

"I won't be doing any Sport today" I informed him. He looked down at my cast and nodded, letting me sit down on the side benches. I watched everyone scurry into their groups. Tessa caught my eye. For some reason, she'd been completely ignoring me. I watched as she hurried to the same group as Nathaniel and stand so close to him, an ant probably couldn't fit through the remaining space. She whispered something into his ears which made him nod. It made me jittery and annoyed to see them that close.

I thought she was the one who told me to stay away from him?

I had a sudden urge to punch her for being such a hypocrite and leaving me when I most needed her. 'You'll be Right. Besides, I was Busy' she'd answered when I had asked her about not coming to visit me at the hospital, at all. I stood and excused myself to go to the toilet, heading for the change rooms.

Nathaniel's POV (oooohhh)

"Nathaniel, help me with the volleyball nets" Mr Goldman ordered. Nodding I complied, when I heard the door gym doors open. I looked up and at then same time, she looked at me. Normally she'd smiled, smirked or even winked at me as a joke, because of that one time I froze when she did. But I was met with a cold glare which made me feel uneasy, but at the same time, angry. I quickly diverted my attention back to fixing the nets and she limped to away.

Abigail. The one girl that... no, scratch that, the one person who was my friend, not because she wanted sex or a boyfriend, not to be popular, not for the attention, but just because she wanted to be. She didn't even seem bothered when I told her I was, in fact, bad news. That's what everyone else knows.

And then she declares we're not even friends.

I stabbed the volleyball nets into the ground, causing them to make a clanking sound. Fixing it into position, I went to over to Mr Goldman, awaiting his next instructions.

"Get into groups. Line up behind the cones" Mr Goldman had ordered them. I grumbled and ambled to the farthest red cone. I noticed Tessa come up beside me and stand extra close to me. I didn't like that girl. She was the one who told Abigail I was bad news in the first place, although Abby didn't mind, but still. I inched slightly away, only to have her move closer.

"So you and Abigail aren't friend no more, huh?" she whispered into my ears, causing a shiver to run down my spine. I glanced up at Abigail, who seemed to be glaring at the ground, and nodded. I looked up again to see her stomping away to the change rooms. I felt my arm brush against Tessa's, and moved. She moved closer, again. I felt her hand start feeling up and down my arm

"Do you like astronomy?" I asked her when I'd finally had enough of the unwanted touching.

"Huh?" she quaked. "I mean, yeah, the moon, the sun, the pretty stars and..." She continued on, staring into my eyes while twirling her brown hair.

Abigail's hair is prettier... wait, what? I shook my head and got back on track.

"Have you ever heard of Space?" I asked. She frowned, but nodded eagerly anyways. "Personal Space?" I said, scowling. She pouted, but moved slightly away, so our arms were no longer touching. I looked up again, to see Abigail proudly walking out of the change room, walking over to Mr Goldman.

"Sir, can I go get some tablets for my broken leg" I felt the pit of guilt bubbling in my stomach again. I did that, all because of my road rage. I tend to drive faster when I'm angry or stressed. I looked up and studied her face. I've gotten to know her over the past few weeks, well enough to know the smirk on her face was a sign of trouble. Her eyes flickered over to Tessa and she glared. Tessa just rolled her eyes.

After getting permission to leave, she strode out of the gym. For a while, I just let my eyes linger on the way her hips swung, before making up my mind.

"Mr Goldman, can I go get my, um, water bottle, from my, the lockers?" I tried forming an excuse. He looked at me with a questioning glance, which I returned with an innocent smile.

"Sure" he said carefully before walking away. I grinned and ran out the gym, after Abigail. She looked like she was about to cause trouble.

I know we weren't exactly on good terms, but trouble is my middle name.

Well, actually, it's Evan.

But trouble is the name of my game.

Abigail's POV

I'm going to teach that stupid girl a lesson. I had stolen her school clothes from locker rooms and was heading to my next destination when I'd heard footsteps behind me. Coming to a halt, I turned around to see running up behind me.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed, holding Tessa's clothes in one hand and my crutches in the other.

"I know you're out to cause trouble" he panted. "I just want to help" I squinted my eyes to see any signs of bluffing.

"Well, your earlier touchiness with Tessa proves that I can't trust you" I retort, turning away and heading to the storage room. Nathaniel, being persistent, followed me.

"Wait, this a plan against Tessa?" He asked, eyebrows raised. I gave him a quick nod and swiveled around, continuing walking again. "That girl irritates me" he grunted and followed. "I know we aren't on good terms, but can I at least watch?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever" I huffed, pulling open the door to the storage closet. It was filled with detergents and extra equipment for the school. But there were also two people inside, both close to naked, and surprisingly, I knew one of them.

"What are we looking at.. oh my, what do we have here" Nathaniel asked, a smirk taking over his facial features as he lustfully stared at the scene in front of us. "See, this is why I always hang out with you, Abigail, you always tend to find out the juiciest of juicy secrets" he whispered into my ear, causing me to glare and push him away.

"We're not friends" I spat out. He looked hurt for a second, and hastily shut his mouth, turning away from me to look at the two people, who had been quietly watching our conversation.

"So, what are you girls doing in the closet" he chuckled. "Literally" I had to let out a breath of laughter at his lame joke. I looked at Rikki, who was only wearing her undergarments, and the other girl who was in nothing but a bra. I forced my head up, so I wouldn't look any lower than the girls head.

"Who are you?" I asked. I felt like I'd seen her somewhere.

"Jenny" she cleared her throat, flipping away the black fringe that kept covering her left eye.

"So what are you two? Girlfriends, fuck-buddies..." Nathaniel suggested. He didn't seem to be restraining himself from checking out both girls.

"She's my girlfriend" Rikki spoke up for the first time. I looked over at her withe widened eyes. "Please don't hate me Abigail."

"Why would I hate you? You're still the girl who visited me at the hospital" I said, quickly glancing at Nate's guilty face before turning back to Rikki. She seemed relieved.

"Then don't tell my sister, please! She is the biggest homophobe" she said hurriedly.

"Your sister...?" I drawled out, sharing a glance with Nathaniel.

"Yeah, Tessa" Rikki said, giving us a confused look. "Wait, she didn't tell you? I thought you two were besties" I shook my head and scowled at the ground.

"We are friends no longer" I grumbled, looking at the clothes. I reached past them and got ahold of the scissors. "Now if you excise me, I'm going to do what I came here for" I sighed. I noticed Jenny gravely sitting on the floor, and again, felt like I'd seen her before. "Do I know you?" I blurted out to Jenny, causing her to look up.

"No, but you know my brothers" I nodded my head, gesturing for her to go on. "Jaden and Jesse" she said quietly. I glanced over at Nathaniel, and again, saw the reaction he always had when he heard Jesse's name. A paled face.

I nodded on response, poise. The scissors and started shredding the Tessa's shirt into a thousand pieces, cursing her in my mind. I grabbed the shorts and did the same. Once I was done, I threw the clothes in the green bin beside me.

"Homophobic Hypocrite" I huffed, swiping away the fringe in front of my eyes when I was finally done. I looked up to see Rikki, Jenny and Nate staring at me wide eyed. "What?" I asked "I had to blow off some steam"

"Well, enough of that. Let's get back to class before we get our ass whooped" Nate said, taking ahold of my arm. We'd missed most of the period. "See you two later" he winked before we headed out.

"Don't worry, I won't tell Tessa!" I shouted as I was being pulled away. When we were far enough, I pulled away my arm away from Nate's grasp.

"Don't touch me" I hissed. I would've stomped away dramatically, except I couldn't with my broken leg. He stopped me again.

"Abigail, please, I'm sorry" he sighed, rubbing his temple. I ignored and kept walking (more like limping) away.

"You two, in my office, Now!" We both turned around to see Mr Jennings standing in the hallway, glaring at us.
