Cira's POV
I woke in the middle of the night to Jason mumbling and twitching in his sleep like he was earlier.
"Please don't hurt her." He mumbled. "I'm sorry Cira. I'm sorry."
"Jason." I shook him gently. "Wake up. Hey."
He opened his eyes, breathing heavily.
"Cira?" He croaked.
"Hey. I'm right here Jason. It was just a bad dream." I said softly.
He slowly reached his hand up and cupped my face.
I smiled softly and held his other hand.
"See. I'm okay." I whispered.
He gently pulled me to him and took a deep breath.
"What happened?" I asked.
"The rogue who killed my sister. He had you." He whispered. "And I couldn't get you. I couldn't protect you." His voice cracked at the end.
"But it was just a dream Jason. I'm here. I'm okay. I promise nothing will happen to me." I said, wrapping my arms around his neck, holding him close.
"I don't want to lose you." He whispered.
"And you won't. I promise." I said, kissing his cheek.
He nodded and laid his head on my shoulder.
After he fell asleep I laid there for awhile, thinking of what happened to his sister.
He was scared, things happened in his past that are affecting him right now. I can't push him to tell me everything, I know that.
I guess I just have to wait until he's ready to talk. I'll stay here through it all, no matter what.
The nightmares, the arguments, all of it.

•Jason's POV•
I woke up the next morning and looked at Cira.
She was so beautiful.
But no matter how much I want to, I don't think I can let her in.
It would only put her in danger, and I can't lose her.

Ding
I picked up my phone and saw a text from Ryan.
I quietly got up and got dressed, leaving the room and going downstairs.
"Devon." I said, waving him over. "You're one of our best warriors. I need you to keep an eye on my mate. Her name is Cira."
"No problem Beta Jason." He said.
I nodded and walked outside and over to Ryan's house.

"Ryan!" I called, walking inside and to his office.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"What did you need me for?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" He asked, looking at me like I had lost my mind.
"I got a text from you." I said, handing him my phone. "You said that you needed me at your office."
"That's not my number. I didn't send that." He said.
"Then who the fuck did?" I asked.
Rogues! They're coming quick! Straight for the pack house! West Border!
"Shit!" I yelled as border patrol mind linked us.
I ran out of the house and took off to the pack house.

I burst into the front door and ran up the steps.
"Devon! West border. Rogues." I said as I reached the top.
"Cira!" I yelled, running past Devon and into our room.
"Jason!" She jumped out of bed, looking up at me.
"I need you to come with me. Right now." I said, holding my hand out.
"Okay." She took my hand as I lead her down the hallway.

"Here. I need you to stay right here. Please." I pleaded, opening the door to the panic room.
"Okay. I will." She said.
"Hey. Don't cry." I whispered, wiping a tear that fell down her face.
"What's happening?" She asked quietly.
"Just a few rogues causing problems. But I need you to stay in here. And as soon as I shut this door you press the button on the wall. And don't open it for anyone except me. Not even Ryan."
"Okay. I won't." She said.
"I'll be back Love." I said, pulling her to me.

I shut the door and waited to hear the metal crank shut before running down the steps.
Our panic room was a regular room, except for the button that you push which closes you inside. It can't be opened from the outside, and no one can get past the metal that closes around the windows and door.

I ran to the West Border as quick as I could.
"I should kill you right now!" I heard Ryan snarl as I broke through the trees.
I stopped in my tracks and shifted back, staring at the rogue.
"Oh would you look who showed up!" The rogue chuckled, looking at me. "Tending to your mate?"
I growled lowly and took a step towards him.
"Stop." Ryan held his hand up, shooting me a look.
"He killed my sister." I growled. "Your mate. He deserves to die."
"Just stop." Ryan shook his head.
He has an entire army of rogues waiting behind our border. We can't afford to fight right now. Especially with your mate by herself. Ryan told me through our link.
"What do you want?" I asked the rogue, staring him down.
"Simple." He said. "We are going to be staying on the land outside of your border. You don't bother us, we don't bother you."
"What's in it for us?" Ryan asked.
"You get to avoid war." He said.
"Fine." Ryan said before I could say anything. "But if you cross my border I will kill you all."
"And don't worry Jason. Your mate is too pretty to kill." He chuckled.
"How do you know about her?" I growled, clenching my fists.
"I know a lot more than you think." He chuckled, turning around and signaling for his rogues to go back.
Me and Ryan watched as they ran off of our land.
"I don't like this." I growled.
Ryan nodded in agreement as we headed back to the pack house.
