Alina's POV

After the cutting of the cake our packs mingled while enjoying the buffet-style dinner my mum had out and the relaxed vibe of the night, blissfully unaware of the explosion about to erupt and not taking notice of a few missing people. I grab a plate of saucy spaghetti and stride towards Xavier who has absolutely no idea what's coming. I stand a few feet away from him so I can make a clean escape and make my first move. "Xavier honey," I holler in a sickly-sweet tone, "look over here!". A few people stop what they're doing and glance at me as I take a fist full of the spaghetti and chuck it full force at his face.

Silence. That's all I hear.

He stands in complete shock for a few seconds before ripping an ear-splitting growl erupts from him. "Oops. My bad, my hand slipped," I smirk in a oh-so innocent voice and dashed out the back door of the pack house. I hear him yelling out a war cry behind me before chasing after me with the twins in tow. Right where we want them.

I stop right in the middle of the yard and wait.

As soon as they stepped foot outside the door, I shouted out the signal, "Attack!"

Riley, Jase, Thea and our backup come sprinting out of the woods, bringing with them bucket loads of assortments of food and my personal favourite, water bombs.

"Oh shit..." was all I heard from the direction of the guys before food started flying in their direction. "Food fight!" I hear the twins shriek and pack members come running out the house armed with ammo and join in.

Amongst the chaos that ensued, I silently went around the house using my awesome ninja skills and opened the sprinklers and brought back the water hose. "Ah," I did a little war cry and let the water rip, soaking everyone in range. Jason comes behind me, hijacking the hose from me and starts spraying me with the ice-cold water.

"Traitor," I squeal and dive for the only visible cover amidst the mayhem, under a picnic table a few feet away. I let out a sigh of relief but my relief was short lived as I turned around and saw Xavier taking cover from the destruction under here too. My breath hitched as he crawled towards me, "Nice payback babe. We never saw it coming," he chuckled, wiping away a thick blob of what looks like lemon meringue pie from his face and opens his eyes to look at me properly. I probably looked equally as bad, if not more hilarious right now - covered from head to toe in food and water, completely soaked to the bone and looking flabbergasted - because he was all out laughing like a deranged hyena once he saw me.

"Is the notorious Alina Richard lost for words? Aww, my wittle baby." He pinches my cheeks and mocks me in a baby voice as I swat his hands away.

Seconds later Riley comes crawling into the fast-shrinking space right behind me, "Ali why are you hiding? I thought you would be join-" she was cut off as she rammed into me and sent me flying forward into Xavier, sending us both tumbling to the ground. He landed flat on his back with me right on top of him and his hands wrapped around my waist.

"I'm so sorry...I- " She pleads but instantly stops when she notices our position. "Well isn't this cozy. You two live birds carry one, don't mind little ol' me," she wiggles her eyebrows making my cheeks heat up.

"Oh, I quite like this position, don't you babe? Very cozy indeed." Xavier smirks and reaches down to pinch my butt, causing me to jolt in place. Riley looks away and giggles, "Would you kiss her already! I can't do everything for you Xavier, I only agreed to help you get her alone - which I did, with the help of Jase." She grins smugly.

"Why you little-" I was cut off by Xavier's hands bringing my head down and crashing his soft lips to meet mine in a passionate kiss, putting all his emotion behind it while caressing my cheek. I remained stunned for a second and all sensible thoughts went flying out of my head as I snapped out of it, returning his kiss, kissing him just as hard and passionately. We pull apart, breathless and he rests our foreheads together for a moment, "I love your blush princess. So beautiful," he caresses my flushed cheeks.

I slowly come to my senses and realize what just happened, along with the fact that we had just made out in front of an audience, I abruptly scrambled off of him and stood up hastily, momentarily forgetting we were under a table, resulting in my head crashing into the table above with a loud thud.

Goddess, couldn't I catch a break just this once? I ask the deity in complete embarrassment as black dots invade my vision and I slumped back down onto Xavier's chest. "Ali!" was all I heard as I'm about to pass out right after having the most amazing kiss of my life. This is just fantastic, was the last thought that ran through my mind before everything blacked out.
