Christmas came on Monday. Mom and I spent the night making sure all the Christmas present were under the tree and to drink the milk and eat the cookies Alejandra left for Santa. She was smart but she still believed Santa Claus was real. We had a great time. Mom talked about a really good male friend of hers who she seemed to like. Well, she deserves to be happy so let her be. We even talked about Mike. Mom was very anxious to meet him while I was on the edge of telling her that she wasn't going to meet him until he asked to.

On Tuesday, I got up as usual and made breakfast before getting ready. I showered, brushed my teeth and walked over to my closet to check what I was wearing. I decided to wear a teal long sleeve shirt with a denim jacket that seemed to be very thick. I wore some leggings to keep my legs warm and some combat boots.

"Calli!" I finished getting ready and fixed my hair a bit and headed out the door. I entered the kitchen to see my sister and another figure by the sink. The person turned around and I was quiet surprised with what I saw.

"Uh, who is that?" A man with black hair, dressed in a nurse's uniform looked back at me while drying his hand.

"I'm Tom. I'm a friend of your mom's." I raised an eyebrow as he offered his hand for me to shake.

"Are you sure you're a friend?" He nodded. I reached out my hand and shook his. "Well, I'm Calli. Would you mind telling me where my mom is?"

"She's upstairs getting her purse." I turned to look at Alejandra. She took a bite of her toast and shrugged.

"Are you having breakfast?" I turned my attention back to the man in front of me. I shook my head.

"No. Thank you anyways. Alejandra, can you finish breakfast? I want to meet Mike before class." She nodded and finished her meal. She took a big gulp of juice and swallowed in no time.

After I made sure Alejandra got safe to school, I walked to mine. It seemed like something I did every day. Who am I kidding? I did that every single day. Arriving at school, I notice Marcus and Victoria talking. He spoke a few words to her to which she nodded. A smiled crept upon Marcus' face, making him give her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"It's nice to see you too, you know?" I looked away from them to see Mike standing beside me. He was holding back a smile while I just gave him a weird look. "I'm messing with you Calli."

"I know." He leant closer and pecked my cheek. "What was that for?"

"I was trying to say hi." I chuckled and looked away from him. I stared at my friends as they kept on talking and laughing among themselves. Victoria's smile was sort of different. "Listen, I had a great time on Saturday and I was wondering if you would like to hang out with me and some friends this next Saturday."

"Uh," I gave it some thought before saying anything. Mike and I started talking a few days earlier plus he wanted to hang out again. It then hit me straight in the face that New Year's Eve was the same day. "I can't. It's a holiday and I want to spend it with my family. Maybe if my mom says yes, you could stop by if you want.

"I'll take what I can get." I chuckled as he shrugged trying to look all cute. "Should we go inside?"

"Uh," I was cut off by the school bell ringing.

Although the day seemed to go really slow, my mind tried its best to focus on the teacher at the front of the class or walking around the classroom. But it didn't work out as a boy with bright hazel eyes and curly brown hair kept sneaking to my thoughts. It felt like he was in the same room as me watching me, trying to haunt me. I wondered how he was doing. I wondered what he was wearing or saying that very moment. I wondered if he was thinking about us. Us being mom, Alejandra, Tori, Marcus and me. He was probably with his girlfriend. She was definitely was crazy as he described her. I knew this because of the way she stared at me and Austin when we took him back with his mom. I won't deny it. I missed Austin. It felt weird going downstairs to the basement and not seeing him there. He was great company during the time he stayed with us. And I knew some day the feelings I had for him would have to go away but it wasn't going to be easy. I remember the first time Alejandra made him play a game of chess with her for the first time. It made her happy. The time we spent the night reading a book I love you, Teresa Kills we spent most of our time talking about my life. I wasn't that open with anyone but Austin gave me the confidence I needed when it came to talking about my personal life.

"Calli Johnson?" I shook my head and looked up from my desk. Mr. Reynolds stared down at me holding his glass in his hand while his arms were crossed in front of his chest.

"Can you repeat the question?" The teacher shook his head in disapproval as the class began to laugh. I was taken aback by this but I looked around to class room. Everyone was laughing, except Victoria, Julian and Marcus who somehow fell asleep in class.

"Please pay attention Calli." I turned to look at our teacher and nodded. "Alright James, can you answer the question?"

And so the class went on. I had lunch with Julian and his cousin Michael considering Tori and Marcus were long gone and nowhere to be seen after History.

I yawned after standing from my seat in Spanish class. That was the only class I didn't share with any of my friends or Julian. As I promised, I walked to the soccer field to see Julian's soccer practice.

"Calli!" I looked up from my feet to see Julian and Michael looking at me. I waved at them and they waved back before a shoving war. I couldn't help but laugh at them.

I sat on the bleachers to watch the boys. They were really good. Some of them miss their shots sometimes but the coach and the rest of the team would cheer them on. Julian would sometimes look at me with a smile on his face. Was he really happy about me being there? The practice came to an end and I texted mom saying I would be home soon. I walked down a few steps and met Julian half way.

"Hey, I didn't expect you to remember." He swung his bag over his shoulder and looked up at me.

"I promised and I didn't want to miss it." He smiled and surprised me with a quick kiss on the lips. I blinked right after and raised an eyebrow at him.

"Sorry. I couldn't help it." What was that boy doing to me? I couldn't help but smile at him.

"It's okay." I offered him my hand and he took it. "You're driving me home, you know?"

"I wouldn't miss it." I laughed with him and we made our way to the school's parking lot.

Happy New Year again! I basically got home two hours ago. I went to eat with my family and one of my friends plus we went to a store where they sell all-types-of-flavored-popcorn. I got Nutella and my brother got Salt and Lime and it's hella good! Anyways, thank you for reading! Hopefully I'll post next chapter next Friday for all of you to enjoy! Tell me what you're excited for the New Year in the comments below and make sure to vote! Thank you!

PS, there's a trailer on the side which I made a few months ago. There's two versions. Calli's and Austin's but I'll be sharing Calli's trailer for the moment. You can look up Austin's on my channel! If you can't watch from your phone, I apologize. I tried making it work on phones but it didn't work.
