Amity Shippen never imagined she would be Queen.

Nonetheless the Queen of Vampires.

But alas, here she was standing behind the dark wooden doors that waited for their cue to open. Today was her coronation day. The day she would officially be crowned Queen.

Amity was shaking with nerves, nerves of excitement and fear. Today was not only the day the mating bond would be completed, but it was also the one-year anniversary of Amity meeting her mates. Finally, the day was here, the day Amity and her mates were looking so forward to after the time of courting and the dangers that Amity had to go through. The day was finally here. Today, Amity Shippen would become Amity Volturi.

Amity thought of her life. She was born on June 16, 1763 to Edward Shippen and Margaret Francis-Shippen. She always chased after her older sister, Peggy, by three years who became deeply in love with a Major John Andre before tragedy struck. A tragedy that struck her sister's heart until her death in 1804. Her sister never recovered from the hanging of her lover. Nor did her sister ever love the man she was forced to marry. Benedict Arnold, the name that made Amity's eyes darken and her heart to be hardened whenever she would think or hear of him.

However, Amity had one good memory of him. Her last memory of him. She would never forget sinking her teeth into his neck, draining him of his blood. Her sister had been avenged that day. Not only was Arnold the cause of her sister's suffering, but he was a traitor to Amity. A traitor to the cause she silently believed in.

Yes, Amity had taken part in the patriot cause. Her enlistment with the Daughters of Liberty would take her to Garrett, a continental soldier that was forced to desert after what had been done to him. She remembered his backstory very well. After all, she wouldn't be where she was now without him. She still thanked him to this day, even though she was forced to leave her human life behind.

On a dark night, the night of a weekly meeting with the Daughters of Liberty in Philadelphia, Amity met Garrett. Amity was taken from her usually peaceful walk into an alley where a man of filth slammed her into the wall harshly before tearing at her clothes. Amity had gone unconscious when her head met the wall, cracking her skull. Before the man could do anything further, the man was slammed into the opposite wall before feeling his neck being ripped open by sharp teeth. He was dead within minutes from blood loss.

Garrett rushed over to Amity, holding her head in his hands. His eyes widened at the feel of blood, cursing under his breath. Only a faint heartbeat could be heard, and Garrett knew her end was coming, but it could be stopped. He could change her outcome. Garrett grabbed her wrist and brought it to his lips, mouthing he was sorry before sinking his teeth into her wrist.

Amity would wake up three days later in an abandoned cottage in Virginia to Garret explaining to her what had happened. She was furious at first. How dare he strip her of her mortality! But she soon understood as to why he did it, even if he didn't know why he had the urge to turn her. Usually, he would just speed up a person's death, but she was an exception. It was like she was meant to become a vampire. Like the fates had commanded it to be so. Amity would have died in the streets and although she was mad at Garrett for not giving her a choice, she did thank him for saving her from the man and giving her a second chance at life.

She soon was taken out from her thoughts by the voice of Felix.

"They are ready for you, my Queen." he bowed.

She nodded. "Thank you, Felix."

The two guards of the Low Guard opened the door, revealing the crowd before her and she walked gracefully inside into the new life that awaited her.
