Chapter 47- You can go to sleep now...

"That poor little girl" Gabby says
"She's being out back into the foster system but until then she will go into a home" Antonio says before walking away
Caroline looks up at Harper with puppy dog eyes and whispers something
"What was that honey?" Harper says bending down to hear Caroline better
"Don't let them take me" Caroline says in a scared voice
"I won't honey!" Harper says smiling
Harper looks over to Kelly and Dawson who has heard the whole situation. Harper gives Caroline to Otis and walks into the common room
"We can't put her back into the system!" Harper says
"I know! But where can she go?" Casey asks
"This might be a long shot! But you too!" Harper says
"That's a great idea! You've had experience with Louie!" Kelly says enthusiastically
"Miles would like a sister" Dawson says looking at Casey
"Let's go for it then!" Casey says as he smiles
It's a few days later and Caroline is settling into her new home nicely. Everyone is back on shift whilst Caroline is at school
"All units, Warehouse fire, 6 merchant street" The intercom says
They all jump into their trucks and drive off to the scene
"This ones gonna be a big one! Have each others backs out there!" Harper says
"Got it Captain!" Otis says as they arrive on scene
When they arrive they can see a building up in flames and spreading fast. Harper gives 81 there assignments and they mask up and run in. Harper notices that there is a basement
"Hey chief! There's a basement and I'm pretty sure the fire is coming from down there!" Harper shouts through the radio
"Okay! Find a way in!" Boden replies
Harper searches until she finds a staircase. She walks down them to discover tons of people trapped behind a door. She runs over and opens the door whilst the people pile out.
"Okay! One at a time! Go up those stairs and someone will guide you out!" Harper shouts
"Chief I'm gonna need some help down here!" Harper says though the radio
"Copy that!" Boden replies
Otis and Casey come running down and help the victims out. Harper runs in along with Otis
"How's your air?" Harper asks
"I'm good! What about you?" Otis replies
"I'm good!" Harper says as they wander in deeper
They get further in and notice 4 gas canisters
"Chief! Clear the building! Now!" Harper says through the radio
"Care to elaborate?" Boden asks
"There's enough gas canisters to blow up the whole street down here!" Harper says
"Copy that! Everyone out!" Boden says
But Otis doesn't move
"Get out!" Harper shouts whilst turning the hose on
"We're in this together!" Otis says grabbing onto the hose
They go at it for about 5 minutes until they run out of water
"It's gonna blow! On the count of 3 run!" Harper shouts
"Okay!" Otis says as they both run
Harper makes out it but Otis doesn't quite. The blast caused Harper to black out whilst everyone is outside wondering where they are. Harper wakes up and runs over to Otis. He is burned from the neck down but he is breathing. Harper starts CPR
"Mayday! Otis is down!" Harper says through the radio
"Let me go in chief!" Cruz says
"No one else goes in!" Boden shouts
10 minutes later and there is still no sign of Harper and Otis. Until Harper stumbles out with tears in her eyes
"Where's Otis?" Cruz says starting to panic
Harper pauses before looking at Kelly then looking at Casey. Everyone's hearts drop.
"I'm so sorry Cruz" Harper says looking down
"No! No! This is some kind of sick joke! He's right behind you!" Cruz says trying to run in but Harper stops him
"He's gone Cruz! The last thing he said was I Love you brother!" Harper says whilst sobbing
"No Harper! Please! Go back in and get him!" Cruz says collapsing onto the floor
"I'm sorry! I wish I could!" Harper says before Kelly comes over and wraps his arms around her....
