"What?" Riley gasped. I had told him everything that happened at Bella's birthday party up to my remaining family members leaving Forks. "Yeah, life has been going down the drain," I said. "And my relationship with my brother is on the rocks," I added with sadness. "Why?" he laced his fingers with mine. "Because I wanted to stay," I looked at him sadly, "It would have killed me to leave you, because I love you so much." "I love you, Lilly. You're the light of my life, and I'm grateful you stayed." he smiled handsomely. "I promised that I would protect you, and I intend on keeping that promise," I laid my head on his shoulder and we watched the moon rise.
