Penelope didn't understand much about herself.
For example, she didn't know how she was in love with a girl she had kissed once in spin the bottle three years ago. Especially when that girl was currently dating Harry Greene, aka one of the biggest jerks at Truham.
Luna had been her name, and Penelope couldn't understand how a girl so amazing could be with a guy as horrible as Harry Greene.
She knew she had no right to fawn over the girl as deeply as she had. She barely even knew her. She couldn't even tell you her favorite color. All she could tell you was that she was beautiful and deserved so much better than a guy who had completely disregarded her feelings.
Penelope's friends, specifically Tao, had been trying for years to make her get over the pointless crush that had still been going nowhere. On the bright side at least, her best friend had now also formed a crush on someone that was almost as pointless as her crush on Luna.
It seemed, however, that one special night, at one special party was all the two friends needed to finally make progress in the seemingly pointless crush.
