His hands were shaking. Samfred never shook. He was never emotional, but this was different. The team was on their way. After a complicated communication between Samfred and his brother Alfred, they knew where to find them. Who was still confused how Samfred had gotten himself into this situation. He was a scientist and, according to Alfred, the stick a stick in the mud.

To have heard Alfred, one would think Samfred was all business and no play. He hadn't even propagated with another being yet. Ever.

The locator beacon was turned on after some finagling with it. It worked, and he'd felt Alfred's voice inside his head confirmed the team was on their way and they had located them.

Samfred was astonished.

He'd never believed the Grey and their ability to speak with one another would come in handy at a most needed time. Samfred wanted to pursue this line of thought, but there was no time to do so. He would have to save it for another time, and he didn't believe for a second he could forget it.

The guard who'd been attending him stood immobile in the corner. With the ability to speak telepathically, Samfred also possessed the ability to bend people's will. Right now, the Wolfeen male he was using was acting as his lookout and his own personal bullet shield.

The male had boasted there was no need for them to keep a scientist alive, thus he could kill him any time he wanted.

"Alright, my work here is done, now, if you would please be so kind as to lead me to my friends. Thank you."

The guard nodded, dazed as he was by Samfred's influence, before he turned to the door, one hand on the handle.
