18🥀 - Nandini spots lovebirds!

Ragini's pov-

We head towards the dining room for lunch and take our seats. I take my seat beside him.
The servants start serving the food
As they come towards us they again keep two plates
And I close my eyes knowing what is going to happen

"One plate is sufficient"

They take away the other one and I can feel all the eyes on us. Not that it feels embarrassing but my sister already has enough information to tease me and they Don't need more of this stuff. I look up at him but he acts as if he doesn't know what is happening.
I look ahead to meet everyone's gaze each one of then has this certain crooked smile on their face even Maa-sa and Bapusa. I look at Nandini and she winks at me mouthing 'Kya baat hai?'. I glare at her as Bhai-sa breaks silence

"Ah, embracing the modern ways of minimalism, aren't we? One plate for the lovebirds!"

"Bhai-sa you too"
I said
Everyone burst into fits of laughter as I lower my head out of embarrassment as Bapusa continues to speak further

"when your Maa-sa and I got married, we also ate from a single plate, just like this"

Maa-sa looks at him telling him to shut up as we all laugh

"By the way I remember something, you know what Maa-sa, I saw something in the balcony today"

"Nandini why don't you concentrate on your food, it is really tasty"
I glare at her asking her to not open her mouth and say some thing further but she passes me a flying kiss indicating damn well she's going to tell everyone. I close my eyes knowing what she'll say and I am not ready to hear it.

"Offcourse jiji but Maa-sa you know I saw two lovebirds in the morning, they were looking so cute sitting on the tree and chirping, just like our jiji and jijaji...so cute!!"

That's it. Hukum chokes on his food, how did he think that Nandini wouldn't know. I quickly hand him a glass of water and pat his back. Bold of him to assume She's so easy and wouldn't do all this. I love her But I am afraid her mischiefs might get her in a big trouble some day.

He calms down as everyone chuckle knowing damn well what Nandini was trying to say.
"What happened jiji khaiye na"
I knew exactly what she meant she was repeating the words hukum had earlier said to me.
Hukum looked at me astonished by how much she Could tease a person.
He leans a bit towards my side so only I can hear him
"Will you eat now or shall I really do something"
He looked at me repeating his line from earlier. I look away being all flustered

The room erupts in laughter sharing incidents and cracking jokes as they slowly move on from our topic, enjoying the rest of our meal in the warmth of family and laughter. Only for it to shift to embarrassing stories from my childhood

"You know what Aaditya, when Ragini was around 6 she tried to save a crying kitten stuck on top of the tree in our flower garden-" Bhai-sa started with this one again, why do they have to tell him everything about me. I embarrass myself more than enough in front of him

"Bhai-sa please not this one" I exclaimed not wanting hukum to know what dumb things have I been doing since so long

"Oh let me complete, She went to save her. She knew how to climb up but not how to get back down and ended up on the branch crying along with the kitten. Even the kitten got frightened by her sobs" Ok whatever I was trying to save her and that is what matters

"No, she didn't get scared. She scratched me!" I retort back. That was definitely not the case

"Because she was scared of you Ragini" Thats it hukum bursts into fits of laughter.
