I show my phone to them.

"Answer him!" Lia said.

At this point, Leonardo and Giovanni were all huddled around us.

Vera:
yes

Unknown:
what r u doing rn?

Vera:
nothing

Unknown:
are u free saturday?

"Fuck no!" Giovanni blurted.

     Everyone turned to him.

"Sorry."

     Grandfather came over and said, "What is the commotion?"

"Somebody's flirting with Vera!" Lia said excitedly.

     Her smile immediately dropped once she realized who she said that to.

"Who's flirting with her?!?" he said, suddenly being interested in the conversation.

"Moretti's son." Leonardo answered.

He immediately joined in with us as we all were close together on the couch.

"What should I say?" I say.

"To get the fuck away from you-" Giovanni started but was hit by Leonardo.

Leonardo then gave him a look.

Vera:

     Emiliano came down after a while.

"Whatcha doin'?" he said happily.

Aria then caught him up on everything.

"So we're just not gonna tell dad?" he said.

He seemed excited of having secrets like this between us.

"What are you not gonna tell father?" Alessandro said coming down.

Some of us jumped from the sight of him. Not because of his face, but because he appeared out of nowhere.

Thinking about it, I realized how I haven't really seen him around the house.

Where has he been?

"Can we tell him?" Emiliano whispers to us.

"Maybe if he won't snitch like last time." Giovanni said.

"Spill it, or I'm telling father you're hiding things."

We caught up to everythign but while we did that, I didn't realize that Roman had texted.

Seeing that text made me pause. I've never had anyone say that to me. I froze at the next message.
