chapter 59 - calm after the storm

It's been a week and Ino has finally regained consciousness, she regained it a week ago around midnight when no one was around, but instead of looking for assistance she just laid quietly on the bed till morning, it was strange but everyone was still happy to see her awake again.

"How are you doing this morning?" Omitsu asked the blonde, Ino nodded "really good" was her short reply, the doctor smiled at her friend, luckily she was complying to her order of not talking to much to avoid any kind of strain, "are you feeling any pain or discomfort in your chest region?" The brunette asked to which the blonde shook her head, "you seem to be recovering well, so just take it easy alright" Omitsu said before walking out.

Ino relaxed into her bed and looked around her room, it was decorated in so many gifts from her well wishers, it was a sweet and nice sentiment it made her feel like she was special and important, in fact just two days ago Yui, but mostly Kotone bursted loudly into her room to see how she was doing.

"Ino! Ino! How are you doing? Omitsu told me you were in the hospital days ago but she didn't let me come see you because you were too weak and there was no crowding allowed, I thought you were dying" Kotone said frantically as she enveloped the blonde in a hug, "calm down, she's alive and well as you can see" Yui said pulling her cousin off, "thanks for coming girls it's nice to see you two again" Ino said hoarsely, "huh don't act like we're strangers" Kotone whined then pouted.

"Anyway we brought you some flowers and a lovely new expensive vase as a present but it seems like we're too late this room is packed with presents" Yui whistled at the fully furnished room, "hey guys when did you show up?" Omitsu asked from the door, "hey" Yui greeted weakly to which she waved and walked into the room.

"We're here to see Ino of course, you sounded so down about her case the other day, so we came to see her for ourselves" Kotone answered, "well I'm sure she's happy to see you two, but she can't speak too much for now so try not to stress her" Omitsu said to Kotone before gently patting her hair to which the other slightly blushed.

After a few minutes of conversation Ino found out that Omitsu and Kotone were actually in a relationship, she first looked at them with a shocked expression to which Yui just sighed and said "you shouldn't be too shocked they're obviously gay for each other" to which they all laughed, "you sound jealous cuz" Kotone teased, "I'm not jealous" Yui defensively waved off, "whatever you say" Kotone shrugged, "anyway I have to get back to my rounds" Omitsu said halfway out the door, "yeah we were about to leave too, get well soon Ino" Yui informed Ino before giving her a pat on the back and walking out, Kotone hugged Ino gently "bye Ino we'll miss you so much and we'll try to come visit again soon, bye" she said before running after her cousin and girlfriend.

Ino smiled at the memory before a knock came at her door, "can I come in?" Kakucho politely asked poking his head through the slightly opened door, "yeah" she smiled and nodded, Kakucho smiled back and entered the room "how are you feeling?" He asked, "much better" she said, "I'm glad, anyway you have a visitor" he informed her, she looked at him curiosly, "you can come in" Kakucho called out.

Rentoru sheepishly peeped through the door before walking in with a bouquet of freshly picked flowers, "good morning Miss Yutero" he greeted, "good morning Rentoru, how are you doing?" Ino greeted back, "I'm good, I was so worried about you when I heard the news" he said handing her the bouquet, "don't worry I'm fine, and thank you for the flowers, they're beautiful" she smiled in appreciation.

Kakucho looked between the two in satisfaction before standing up "I have to see Mikey for a bit, so I'll be back in a few minutes" he informed before walking out, they nodded and watched him walk away before returning to their conversation.
