“A more villainous-looking lot never hung in a row on Execution dock.”

If you close your eyes and think absolute horrid thoughts, maybe, just maybe, you can hear the centuries old song that the pirates of Neverland Island sang.

“Avast belay, yo ho, heave to,

A-pirating we go,

And if we’re parted by a shot,

We’re sure to meet below!”

We meet these terrifying creatures on the bank of one of the many beaches, as their new captain, Elizabeth Morgan, watches as her mutts put a treasure chest in the sand. Of course this chest is not filled with real treasure. Captain Morgan was smarter than that. She had hidden the real treasure in a place that, if I were to tell you, she would have my head.

On the other side of the island, Peter sat at his favorite spot in all of Neverland. He sat on a cliff on the highest peak of the Caw’s mountains. From here he could see the faeries forest, Mermaid’s Lagoon, and he had the perfect view of the pirate’s ship.

He sat there thinking deep thoughts. He didn’t think like this often because he felt like it made him feel grown up.

He was remembering the fun times that he and the Lost Boys, the first ones, had had. He especially thought about the fun times that they had had with Wendy Darling and her brothers.

He remembered the time when he and Wendy were trapped on Marooner’s Rock and a kite saved Wendy and the Never Bird saved him.

He remembered the time when he went back to the Darling home only to find that Wendy had grown up.

He remembered the time when he went back to see Wendy’s daughter, but a strangers child was in the bed.

He shook his head and ordered himself to stop thinking such solemn thoughts that brought back memories that would never again be reality.

He would never admit to it but he missed his Lost Boys. And most of all, he missed his Wendy.

He shook his head again. He had to stop thinking about this. It was making him want to go back in time. Of course that was impossible. He could never go back to see his beloved friends. He would forever be with his new Lost Boys. Of course, unless pirates were to kill each and every one of them off.

There was a thrilling thought! Fighting pirates! Peter flew up into the air and pulled out his dagger. He pretended like Captain Elizabeth Morgan was in front of him and they were fighting to the death. He jabbed and swung, then ducked and swung and jabbed again. Then, as if he had just triumphed, he put his hands to his hips and crowed a mighty crow, a crow that echoed through all of Neverland.

On the shore where they were just finishing burying the chest, Captain Elizabeth Morgan said to herself, “Curse that boy, Peter Pan. May he die a slow and painful death at the mercy of my sword.”
