Lance ran down the dark hallways as he heard something after him.

"Lance!" A voice screamed and he froze.

"Pidge?" He looked back.

"Lance help us!!" Another voice cried.

"Hunk!" He ran back into the darkness but there was no floor and he fell in the silence darkness.

He landed on a black floor with a thud and groaned getting back up pushing himself to his elbows and looked up to see everyone...

His family..
The Paladins and allura and coran
Zarkon

"Al!" Lance looked at his first friend of his return to earths face that was full of disappointment.

"Allura," he got to his feet and saw the princess.

"You all okay, pidge, hunk, Shiro, Keith, even allura and coran!" He laughed happily.

"Lance?" Keith looked at him with a broken look.

"You left us.." Pidge had tears running down her face mixing with the blood from her forehead.

"How could you leave us m'boy?" Coran had a tear run down his face as he stood with Adam.

"You let us die lance!" Hunk screamed. Lance back up a little and looked at his friends.

"You weren't there to protect me," Pidge sniffled hiding in hunks shoulder.

"I trusted you! We're all dead because of you! I thought you cared!" Keith yelled with tears in his eyes.

"You where never a chosen paladin," allura whimpered covering her face with her hand.

"I thought you'd be better lance," Shiro bowed his head down.

"Guys please I'm sorry," lance let out a hiccup sob.

"Take him away," allura pointed at lance and zarkon made his way to the blue paladin.

"What? No! Allura let me explain! Hunk! KEITH!" Lance yelled as he had waterfalls of tears running down his face.

"No! Let me go!!! I'm sorry! Please no!! STOP!!!" Lance screamed and zarkon smiled at him mercilessly.

He snapped lances arm in half like a tooth pick and he screamed in pain as he cried harder.

"Pathetic," he chuckled and took out a purple glowing sword and stabbed it right through lances abdominal and he cried out in pain and surprise.

He sprung up in his bed dripping in cold sweat as a scream ripped from his throat. He panted as he checked his body for wounds or anything and found nothing except the wounds from weeks ago.

"Quiznex..." He panted holding his head leaning forward. He took a deep shaky breath and let a small whimper pass his lips. Tears ran down his face as he hugged himself.

Why can't I just be back to my normal self...?He closed his eyes.

He wiped his face and got out of the bed and put on a shirt covering his long torso. He walked out the door a little dizzy but went to the kitchen and leaned against the counter.

"You okay?" A voice said. Lance yelled out in surprise and jumped ten feet in the air. He turned and saw Megan looking at him gently.

"I-I-I'm fine," he caught his breath.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you," she said awkwardly.

"It's fine, I'm just a little jumpy," he sighed crossing his arms.

"Do you want to talk about the nightmare?" She asked.

"I could hear you..." She looked away. "It's not your fault,"

"It's fine red, I'm fine," lance smiled but his eyes said otherwise.

"Lance we all have a story, you know mine, I know yours," she smiled sadly at him.

"Is it cause my friends tried meeting you?" Megan offered with worried eyes.

"There was just so many of them..." Lance looked away at the ground.

"You got PTSD and trust issues Lance, I'm even lucky you let me in... We can take it slow on gaining back everything you lost," Megan stepped closer as Lance glanced at her.

"Not everything..."

"We all know each other's story but robins, all we know is batman is like a father to him," Megan stated slowly for Lance as he listened.

"Yea, Shiro kinda was a space dad," lance chuckled lightly but his frown returned. He remembered the last time he saw shiro's face as he was being a leader.

"Space dad?" Megan giggled.

"He was our leader, the black paladin, the head of the voltron, he was a big brother or like a father to all of us," he smiled softly.

"Break me and Keith fights up, helped pidge through everything with her family, encouraged hunk, he was just there for everyone," lance sighed leaning back.

"He's still up there, being that hero, protecting you," Megan smiled. "It's the first time you've actually talked about your friends personally, I say that's progress,"

"No... I think he might still be alive, a better chance than everyone else at least," he let out a shaky sigh.

"I've been told when someone we love dies they go up there, heaven, and watch over us, strange earth custom but I believe it," she offered with a nod as Lance looked outside at the night.

"Yea, he's up there, one way or another," lance closed his eyes.

"So you and anyone of that team a thing?" Lance changed the topic quickly taking a breath.

"No, me and Conner where a few months ago but... It was mutual, luckily we're still friends," Megan shrugged. The two talked for a hour more about anything. Lance didn't mind, he didn't want to think about before, he was thankful for having Megan in these times. He can't loose her too.

Even if they haven't known each other for months, they still had a bond, maybe because they've both been to space? Interacted with aliens? Saved worlds before? Something brought them closer. But there as always something new to learn about each other, something that made them open up about things they've never admitted to anyone else.

"Good night lance, you should get some more sleep," Megan smiled at him.

"You too red, I'm always here if you need to talk," lance smiled and she nodded back and they went back to their rooms.

"I know," Megan smiled as she went to her room of the house they shared.

"Megan," she heard behind her and looked at Lance standing there holding one of his arms.

"I can't do this alone.." He looked at her with broken blue eyes. She smiled kindly grabbing his hand and led him back to his bed and laid down in his bed as Lance laid next to her on his stomach.

"You don't have to be alone blue," she smiled at him through the dark as she hung onto his hand going under the blanket with him.

"I know red... I can't do this without you," Lance gripped her hand tightly as they both went on their sides looking at each other.

"This isn't a sexual thing is it?" Megan asked bluntly.

"It's called a sleepover, it's what friends do... We're just friends, right?" Lance looked at her calmly.

"Defiantly," Megan beamed brightly at him. Lance smiled back nodding as he felt like she was a little sister or twin he's never getting back, could never date her and he hoped she felt the same way...

"Don't worry I do," Megan giggled.

"Stop reading my thoughts red,"
