Xian Xu stood nervously before the emperor.

What is wrong with the emperor these days??

Zhu Zhen was looking outside the window with a dazed expression on his face. He was so lost in his reverie that he didn't even hear  Xian Xu's call for him.

Taking a deep breath, he gave a last try.

"Your highness, the general has requested to see you to discuss an important matter"

Zhen Zhu moved his body to the side as an indication that he was listening.

Xian Xu continued,

"He is on the way to Han state and supposed to reach by tonight"

"En. Prepare a room for the general and notify me when he comes"

Xian Xu bowed and waited for his order to rise. After not getting any response for a while, he looked up.

The emperor again was back at his dazed self. Xian Xu was perplexed seeing his highness's state...

Who wouldn't be when he saw the usual confident and strong willed emperor look like he was lost in a maze and didn't know the way to get out of it?

In inner palace-

G.Li was in the bathtub for like one whole afternoon washing her hair. She took handful of rosy fragrant shampoo and rubbed it on her scalp.

Smelling her hair for the nth time, she realized that her hair smelled nothing less than a rose garden. Satisfied, she completed her shower.

Now her hair smelled like she was carrying a rose garden on her head.

let's see who calls my hair smelly again, humph!

When it was lunch time, G.Li went into his chamber with the food tray. Bowing to the king,whose head was buried in papers she started placing the dishes on the table...

"Your majesty, lunch has been served."

"Zhen is not hungry. Take them out" He didn't even bother to lift his head.

As nobody was allowed to touch the king's food, they would end up in dustbin if the emperor didn't want them.

G.Li felt really sad for those tasty dishes. She didn't get to eat well till the day she transmigrated and the king dared to toss these loves away like that.

No my dear dishes, as a devoted foodie, I wouldn't let anyone do injustice to you.

She was tenderly wiping the emperor's sweaty forehead when Xian Xu passed the information. Due to her sudden excitement, she slapped the towel on his majesty's face.

G.Li fell on the ground and started kowtowing fiercely,

"Your highness, please pardon nu. Nu (This lowly servant) didn't mean to do that. This servant was just happ..."

"Do you know Song Jian?" the emperor cut her off. His voice was exceptionally calm.

degree in the field of bootlicking. She was so good but her sweet words were cut off in the middle, when the king swept the nearest plate and sent it flying away..

G.Li was dumbstruck.

What the hell just happened?

"Leave!"
His voice was so sharp and loud that,it took her everything not to flinch in fear.

I don't want to stay here either, you father of all maniacs!

She bowed and turned back to leave but her hands were grabbed from behind and the next her back was slammed against a hard chest.

Zhu Zhen looked at Xian Xu and ordered,
"Leave!"

G.Li couldn't figure out what was happening but knowing she was not safe in those hands, she started struggling to get his hands off.

Pinch! slap! pinch! slap!

And boi! His hands were nothing less strong than iron shackles.

After a few failed attempts, she understood that it was futile to struggle.. So,she used a different method and started shouting,

"Help! Someone help! The king has been possessed by some maniac evil soul.. Someone help!"

Unfortunately for her, all the guards knew better what that maniac soul was capable of. So, they obediently stood in their place.

So hateful!

"You coward guards! You can't even save a damsel in distress!! You are nothing but shame to the empire!!! I curse you all‌‌‌!!! I curse you- ummmm

Something soft landed on her lips all on a sudden, muffling all her cries.

G.Li's eyes widened in surprise.
