The Halloween Ball

Did I ever mention, that the Halloween Ball was a big deal in our school. I probably did but it was something truly to see. The photography club was stationed outside like the paparazzi at a major event and would take pictures of couples and single souls (as single alone wasn't sad enough) before they entered.

When Xander opened the door for me and helped me get out of the car it was like lightening had struck. Everyone froze in their places, one even almost dropped a camera off a tripod. Xander had to snap his fingers to get the guy in charge of valet parking to snap out of his trance. Why was he surprised anyway? He wasn't even a student here?

"Umm picture?" The guy who almost dropped the camera off the tripod asked

"Sure" Xander replied holding out his arm for me to take.

"Oh... kay. Smile cause it might be your last" he said nervously before taking the picture of us.

"And we have yet to enter the building" I mumbled as I noticed the people whispering loudly behind us and some texting furiously.

"Relax it's only going to intensify by a thousand when we reach the hall" Xander said

"That's supposed to assure me"

"Like a bandage babe, it's better if it's done in one swift move" Xander gave my arm a slight squeeze while my mind was stuck at the fact that he just called me babe.

True to word, as we entered the Grand Hall it was like all eyes were on us. Some even screamed "OMG!" out loud not believing that we had entered together.

"Hey my dudes" Dave came up to us ignoring all the gasps around him. He was wearing a Bob Ross costume with paint palette brushes and all. "Cleopatra and Marc Anthony looking nice"

"Thanks man" Xander said giving him a man shake "your whole thing works too"

"Really that's the best compliment you can give me" Dave frowned at Xander.

"It's all your getting from me, my dude" Xander laughed

"Aria you think I look good, right?" Dave asked

"I think you look great" I said "Bob Ross is very in nowadays"

"See Aria gets it"

"Whatever" Xander said annoyed suddenly by him for some reason "Where's Rob at?"

"Don't even bother they literally scared the bejeezus out of me. It was one thing him describing coming as Cheryl and Jason Blossom but to see them as brother and sister let alone twins, creeped the hell out of me" Dave said with a slight shudder.

"I see Angela and Jerome over there maybe we should go to them" I suggested we were currently in the middle of the hall and all the stares were starting to get to me. It might be a little better in the corner with Angela and Jerome I thought.

"Yeah seems like a good idea" Xander agreed looking at the crowd gathering around us.

"Yeah you two have fun heard Shauna also came as a single soul and I have a feeling I might change that tonight" Dave said with a wink before disappearing into the crowd behind him.
