Xander

It started as soon as I opened the front door, you'd think he'd wait until I was in foyer but no right at the door.

"Explain yourself!" Xavier Montgomery's voice boomed through the halls.

My mind was still stuck at Aria after I dropped her off at her house. This whole time I was thinking how she'd deal with her parents not even giving a thought as to how I'd deal with mine. Guess I'll just have wing it.

"Explain what?" I asked starting off with the classic cluelessness.

"I got a call from Ashton Rockwell telling me my son, my flesh and blood took his daughter, a Rockwell, with him to the dance. He threatened to kill you with his bare hands... that's if there's anything left after I'm done with you" he answered with clenched teeth.

"Is it true?!" My dad roared. For a second, I considered running before gathering the little amount of courage in me.

"Yes, I did take Aria to the Halloween Ball" I admitted. My dad took a step back almost not believing what I had just said.

"What... how... this is... why would you?" My dad somehow managed to form a sentence.

"Cause I like her" now that I just blurted it out I kind of feel like I should've thought about that for a second seeing as my dad was on the brink of a heartattack.

"You LIKE HER!!!" Dad's voice boomed through the halls

"Xavier stop screaming at the boy" my mom came to my defense running from the kitchen.

"Did you just her what he said! He likes her! That that Rockwell girl!" My dad yelled

"Really? Well, I guess this is unexpected" my mom gasped

"Unexpected?! It's atrocious, absolutely outrageous!"

"Xavier, Xander can date whoever he wishes you have no power over that" my mom reasoned

"He's not dating a Rockwell!"

"I am dating a Rockwell" I spoke up

"Boy have you gone insane?" My dad furiously threw his hands around "this is the girl you hated, the girl you have fought with since you were kids"

"Correction, she's the girl you taught me to hate"

"In four generations, no one in our family has let alone been friends with anyone close to a Rockwell let alone be in a relationship with them"

"Why? Cause our great-grandfather got some piece of land before their great-grandfather could get to it. Dad people have forgiven murder we can't forgive a couple of pranks"

"Pranks?" My dad spat "you call them pranks. You're willing to make peace with my arch nemesis just for one girl"

"She's not just any girl to me" I sighed "but you're too blinded by hate to see it"

I walked past him not wanting to keep this conversation going on for any longer. As soon as I got to the room, I threw off the crown, armor and velvet fabric draped over me. I needed to get out of my costume and somehow contact Aria. I was hesitant of texting her right away so I decided to change, go out by the backdoor to the park and walk by her house. Seemed like a sound plan so I put on a pair of jeans, a shirt and threw on a hoodie before running out my room. Hopefully she didn't get told off as bad as I did.
