Kathie Jane

Bingo.

Cade Parkinson's brassbound timetable is fathomable after all. I have to be honest I did a little snooping before I unriddle his cryptic routine which is not so cryptic anymore once I put the puzzles together.

He goes out for a run at four in the morning, comes back and goes to work at six, then he comes home at nine or sometimes eight in the evening.

I know, who voluntarily gets up before the sun even comes up and goes for a run when it is still practically dark outside?

People who wanna end up with a scraped knee and a cracked tooth instead of a healthy lifestyle, that's who.

I'm not one to judge but it still surprises me that there are actual people (in my case one – my neighbor) who lives life in a restrained pattern.

From whom did I got that valuable information, you ask?

It thrills me to realize I can ask the staff just about anything. They know everything. And since I got to be besties with them, they tell me some things.

I also did a little homework on Cade Parkinson. I'm disappointed to say, he barely had any dirt going on. Not even the slightest speck of interesting dirt.

Unlike his brother Vren who had heiresses for flings, Cade was never committed to anyone. Unlike the third son Christian who broke half the city's hearts, Cade is hardly a player. And unlike Matthew who done charities his whole life, Cade never got involved in remarkable deeds to be deemed the golden boy of their family.

Also, he didn't came out on his sixteenth birthday party like Andrei. And Cade's not exactly the darling girl of the family like his youngest sister Ichinandra.

Cade was a plain, blank paper. Except for an advanced intellect the city has known him for. He's done most of his studies abroad (no wonder I haven't heard of him) and however private he was, the grapevine of gossip managed to circle around the fact that his exceptional IQ has land him on graduation days in flying colors.

So, in a nutshell, Cade Parkinson is unreachable. Both socially and intellectually.

Will that stop me?

Absolutely not.

I pick my phone up from the coffee table and checked if there were any messages from Owen. There was nothing much in my inbox but a few party invitations from my friends. I glance at the television, thinking about a Bridget Jones movie. I can just stay in and watch the entire film series.

Bad idea.

My brows creased when I hear a knock on the door. Jessica and Audrey have been busy with work.

Audrey is out of town. Jessica is probably sleeping the day away because she just had a wedding gig yesterday. So, the chances of my best friends dropping by is slim to none.

I made my way out of the living room and headed to the door.

Margaret Parkinson beams when I opened it. It was the first time that I saw her visit Cade. Not that he ever had visitors.

"Hi, Kathie. I've made some pancakes. I thought you might wanna join us for breakfast."

I nodded eagerly. "I would love to."

Margaret ushered me inside Cade's apartment. I did a quick perusal to his place. It's the same as mine but he has a wider kitchen area.

It was a typical bachelor pad too. I had experimented with bright colors in my apartment, whereas, his was mainly a layout of sleek, dark woods.
