It's been two weeks and Ke'shaun still hasn't woke up. The doctors keep saying he's getting better but wouldn't he be awake by now. Anyways I've been doing my schoolwork on my laptop at the hospital and I got all his work too.
Dre, Javon and Trinity haven't been talking to me or even checking up on us. Goes to show what people's true colors are but I ain't worried about them all I need is Ke'shaun.
"Good morning Ke'shaun" the same white doctor said checking on everything
I rolled my eyes and kept styling my hair. She looked at his heartbeat on the screen. It was beating fast.
"What's going on?" I said panicking
"Umm I don't know hold on" she ran out
I got up and grabbed his hand.
"Baby" I whined
"What's going on, we talked about this your not leaving me no time soon so go ahead and calm that heart beat down" I said with tears slipping out
A different doctor ran and pushed me into the chair. He looked at Ke'shauns stuff and just smiled.
"Why are you smiling?" I asked confused
"Well nothings wrong his heart is beating because he's happy or nervous" he shrugged
"Why would he be happy?"
"Most likely because of you" he said
I smiled
"You know when we was starting the surgery on him weeks ago he told us that he loved you and that he needed to get back to you" he explained
"Did he really?"
"Yea I love seeing young love" he said
"Thank you for everything" I said
"No problem, can I hug you" he asked
I nodded and hugged him
"You have a good day and if you need anything and I mean anything call me" he said
"Okay you have a good day too" I said while he walked out
He closed the door and I looked at Ke'shaun.
"So you getting happy over me doing something so normal like doing my hair" I said
I grabbed his hand and kissed his cheek a few times. I could hear his heart beat speed up.
He was happy
"Aww you love me" I said laughing
After saying that I felt a squeeze to my hand. I froze.
"Did you just move! Ke'shaun!!" I said crying tears of joy
"You must actually be getting better, ok I'm gonna ask you questions and you gotta squeeze my hand once for yes and two for no" I said
He squeezed it once
"Okay first question, are you in pain?"
He squeezed my hand twice meaning no
"That's good, do you miss me?"
He squeezed my hand once. I intertwined our hands.
I kept asking questions and he kept squeezing my hand.
...
"Zoey we're about to check everything to make sure nothing is going wrong, could you leave the room for maybe an hour" the doctor asked me
"Uhh sure"
I walked out the room and walked around the hospital with nothing to do. Not looking where I was going I bumped into someone's chest.
"I'm sorry"
"Nah you good" a deep voice said
I looked up and it was a good looking boy that looked around the same age as me with a hospital outfit on.

"Oh ok" I said moving out of his way
"Holl up, what's your name" he asked
"No offense but I don't know you like that so"
"My fault. Uhh my name is Travis Harden, I'm 18 and I'm dying from cancer." He said
"Huh. Your what?" I said
"I'm Travis. You got hearing problems or sum" he said laughing
"No" I said laughing
"Pretty ass smile" he said

"Huh" he said acting dumb
"Que?" I said in Spanish

"¿Qué? cabeza grande" he said
(Translation: what? Big head)
"Okay chill out" I said shaking my head
"Tell me your name" he said
"Zoey"
"Zoey what?" He asked
"Zoey Marie"
"Hmm Zoey.." he said stroking his little beard
"I will cut your beard off don't play wimme"
"I wish you would I would end your life Big head" he said
A doctor came up to us interrupting the conversation.
"Travis it's time to take your medicine" some Mexican doctor said
He rolled his eyes
"Bruh you had to say that why I was tryna spit game" he said giving the doctor a death stare
"You not spitting no game cuz I got a husband, it was cute tho but could never" I said
"Mhm whatever, slide me your number tho" he said
"Nah"
"So how am I gonna see you again" he asked
"You'll see me in this hospital somewhere" I said shrugging and walking away from them
"Ight bruh" he said licking his lips
"Stop staring!" I said speed walking down the hall
