Chapter 31:: Done for good

Author's POV || 1 week later 

"Mom... stop crying now.." Jungkook patted your mom's back who suddenly started crying at midnight, having a bad dream. You sighed and hugged her while Taehyung stood near you all, quietly. 

Because of unfortunate events, you and Taehyung moved to your house for a week or so. Today was your 4th day here and while sleeping, your mom suddenly got up and started crying claiming that she dreamt of your dad. It was hard to see her suffering, it was the purest love they shared and losing someone she relied on and loved so much was the hardest for her. You all could sense her grief and it broke your hearts even more.

--Time skip 

Taehyung patted your back and sat there quietly, on the bed, beside you. 
"Do you miss him?" He asked, softly. You nodded and sighed, "Better than the day we lost him but still... worse in some way..." 
"I'm sure he's there hoping everyone would stop hurting one day." He said, drawing soft circles on your back. You looked at him and leaned into him, pulling him closer, your head resting on his chest. You could hear his rhythmic heartbeat and a sigh escaped your lips.
"The house is really... empty." You spoke, in a shakier voice than you expected.

He didn't talk, but his comforting touch was enough to make you feel the comfort and warmth he wanted to give you. He had nothing to say honestly, there was nothing that could comfort you but he still spoke, "I'm really sorry..."
"You didn't do anything... why are you sorry?" You breathed out as he continued caressing your hair and said, "I'm sorry for... not knowing what to do right now. I really... really want to comfort you, but honestly, the situation doesn't help me with my intentions.. and I can't be any more guilty because, I don't know how to be there for you but- but I promise that... I'll always... always Y/N, I'll always stand beside you... comforting you, okay? I know I can never... be as good to you or love you as much as your dad did but, I'll try my best to be the best man who loves you the most and supports you the most after your father, I'll keep my word to him so... trust me, lean on me." 

You kept quiet, tears falling from your eyes. He wiped those tears softly, pressing a soft kiss on your forehead as you leaned on his chest. 
"Y/N..." He mumbled as you continued crying, not knowing how to respond. He let out a soft breath which hit your forehead and said, "Don't hold it in... if you break, I'll hold you I promise. I've seen you holding in every day... trying to support the others, your mother. I really admire you for that but, it's hard for you too, love. So, don't be scared, I won't let you break.." 

His words were so unusual, you doubted if your love was that deep to the point his words sounded so... different. His words were so deep, so sincere. You didn't expect any of those, not from him but he was proving you wrong. Maybe he had been saving all this sincerity for the time when you really needed it. 

He kept caressing your hair and drawing circles on your back with another hand. You felt so relaxed in his touch, you didn't realize it when you slowly drifted off to sleep. 

--Next morning

"Here, have this," Taehyung said, taking a spoon of soup and forwarding it near your mouth. You just stared at him blankly saying, "Can I eat later..?"
"You haven't eaten for hours now, please?" He asked, making desperate eyes as you gulped, looking down. You knew he was trying hard, but you didn't want to make his efforts go in vain, not when he was doing this for you and your family. 
You sighed and let him feed you, he smiled softly and said, "How is it?"
"Good.." You said, absentmindedly.  

"Have you eaten?" You asked as he didn't answer. You looked at him to see him pretending to focus on the soup. You sighed and said, "What a great way to hide your sins." 
"Sins?" He asked, confused. You sighed and said, "Have something too, don't just go around feeding others." 
"Well... you need to eat first." He said as you replied, "Eat with me."
"No..." He said as you said, "And you dare to call me stubborn."
