I was sick. Again. It was really no surprise, seeing as how I'd been out in the cold with nothing to cover myself with. Although, I'm sure it would pass soon enough.

However, unfortunately, I'd been in a carriage the last two days. Adonis had informed me that the house and town were burnt down. He claimed there were no survivors. The thought of that made me feel so guilty. It was my fault everyone was dead. I'd never see Iris or Jade again either. I might as well have killed them myself.

At the present time, I was laying down with my head on Adonis' lap. I was curled up with a blanket laying over me. I shivered and sniffled as he gently brushed through my hair with his fingers. I was overwhelmed with the sickness and emotions I was feeling. I couldn't get the thought of the town burning out of my mind.

Silently, tears slid across my face. Luckily, Adonis and I were the only ones inside the carriage. Salem was our coachman and Kimaris was in control of another carriage which held the others.

I jumped when I heard a deep, husky voice speak up. "How are you feeling, my love?" Adonis asked softly. I could feel his eyes on me.

I wiped my face. "I'm alright, just cold," I murmured quietly. I tightly gripped the blanket in my hands. I bent my legs in further to conserve body heat.

I heard him hum. "I know. I'm sorry," he mumbled. I glanced up at him. He was frowning, a guilty expression adorning his features.

I bit my lip and slowly shook my head. "It's not your fault. It's mine, really," I stated solemnly. It was my fault. People were dead because of me. There was blood on my hands now.

He made a disapproving sound. "No, it is not. The only ones to blame are those insufferable humans that were once your parents." He all but growled. His hand's movements in my hair slowed as he spoke. It was like he was calming himself down. "You, out of all people involved, are the least to blame," he whispered.

I kept his words in mind. He's right, it was my parents' doings, not my own. I closed my eyes, letting out a breath. I felt myself growing drowsy and I allowed myself to fall into sleep.

I woke up, feeling myself in the air. There were arms wrapped around me, gently holding me. I looked up, my raven hair fluttering in the soft wind as we moved. "Adonis?" I mumbled, staring up at him.

His expression was serious. I noticed we were walking in a field in the middle of the night. It was pitch black outside. He glanced at me and his expression softened. He shortly returned his eyes back to where he was going. I looked around, spotting six figures standing in a circle. There were candles in between each of them and there was an open area.

That's where Adonis walked through. He stepped into the middle and I realized that the figures were the phantoms. Their masks were back and their skin was normal. Adonis kneeled down, placing me on the ground in front of him. My brows furrowed in confusion.

He looked into my eyes, locking me in a trance. "My love, it is a full moon tonight. We can complete the ritual, you and I will be forever," he explained.

My eyes widened at his words. I stole a glimpse at the sky. The moon was ever so brightly shining down upon us. I looked back at the raven haired man kneeling before me. "I-I- really? So soon?" I questioned in shock.
