Chapter Seventeen - New Phone

Alexis pov

I was sitting in my room fixing my bed when a knock came from my door. "Come in" I said and the door opened revealing dad holding a box in his hands.

Dad came in and sat down on my bed. He pat his side and I sat down beside him. He gave me the box in his hands. "What's this" I asked looking at him in confusion. "Open it and find out" he said with a smile.

I opened it and gasped loudly. Inside the box was an apple phone, desktop, headphones, iPod and an iPad.

I looked at dad with wide eyes and grinned before tackling him in a tight hug.

"I can't believe you bought me all this!" I screamed releasing dad and started jumping. Dad laughed. "Since you are going to start school on Monday and you are going to have new friends and lots of  assignments, I decided to buy them for you" he smiled at me and ruffled my hair.

I pout and swat his hand away. "Did you get the same things for Ava too" I asked. He frowned "no I didn't" "why" his frowned deepened "she said she doesn't need them when I asked her" "ooh ok" I shrugged and hugged him again.

"Thank you so much for all this. I've never had a phone before" he picked me and twirled me around and I giggled before he dropped me back on my feet.

"You're welcome princess. Anything for you. Don't hesitate to ask me for anything that you need or want" I nodded against his chest and he kissed my forehead before he pulled away from the hug.

"Dimitri is taking you and your sister tomorrow to pick your uniform according to your sizes okay" "ok" I said and he left my room.

I removed all the devices from the box and kept them on my study table before I put them to charge.

I lied down on my bed and sighed in happiness. I can't wait to start using my new phone!

Ava's pov

I lay on my bed staring at my white ceiling lost in thought. My eyes were tired and hurt from crying too much.

I couldn't believe that my family except for Lexi hate me because I look like my mother.

The sun has set down and it's around seven now.

A knock on my door broke me out of my thoughts. "Come in" I said and a maid came inside.

She bowed her head a little and said "young master Damien asked me to tell you that you should come to the dining room" I told her that I'm coming and she left.

I left me bed and went to my vanity table and looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes were red and my cheek is not as swelled up as it was but if you look closely you'll see a faint red finger print on my cheek.

I sighed and went into my bathroom to fresh up. I came out a few minutes later and got dressed in my pajamas. Since I will be sleeping in a few hours, I didn't dress up. I combed my hair and left it down till it reached below my butt.

I really need a haircut. Maybe I can ask Clara to take me. I thought going down the stairs.

I went to the dining room and everyone were sitting ready to have dinner.

I stood by the door feeling awkward and shuffle on my feet. "Your punishment starts tomorrow. You can have dinner with us" Damien said glaring at me.

I put my head down and quickly went to my seat. "What punishment?" I heard Lexi asked. "She did something bad, so I'm punishing her" Damien answer her.

"But I thought you said you are never gonna punish us" I looked up and stared at me Lexi but she was looking at Damien.

All this while the rest were busy eating there food acting like they can't see us.

"Lexi, keep quiet and eat your food" dad said sternly. He almost looked mad. Clara put her hand on his arm and squeezed it. He closed his eyes briefly before looking at her and smiled. She reciprocated and they went back to eating their food.

A maid put my food in front of me and I thanked her before she left.

I looked at my plate and grinned. Nobody can see me because my hair is covering me. It was macaroni and cheese.

I love macaroni and cheese.

"Ava" I heard Dad called as I was eating my food happily. "Yes" I answered raising my head to look at him but i didn't look directly into his eyes, I looked at his chest.

"Dimitri is taking you and Alexis tomorrow to pick your uniform according to your sizes" he said emotionless.

I nod my head but he didn't see me because he looked at Clara and they started talking.

I continue eating my food and afterwards I stood up and left 'cause I was full and I couldn't finish it.

I went back to my room unnoticed because they were all engaged on a conversation and I left quietly.

I was sitting on my couch looking out the window when the door opened.

I quickly turned around and exhaled a relieved breath when I saw it was Linda.

She came in looking worried with something on her hand.

"Sorry I scared you dear" she said coming to seat by my side. "It's ok" I said quietly.

She turned my head around and touched my bruised cheek with her finger and I winced. She removed her finger quickly looking apologetic.

She opened a bottle and put her index finger inside it, she brought it out and on her finger was a white cream.

She saw my confused look and said "it's an ointment that will help with the bruising on your cheek" she explained and I nodded.

I sat down well and faced my bruised cheek towards her. "This will hurt a little dear"

She started rubbing the ointment gently and I winced. It was painful.

I wanted to cry because of the pain but I held it in. I'm tired of crying everyday. Literally.

She finished putting the ointment saying 'sorry' once in a while.

My eyes started dropping and Linda stood up. "Go and rest dear. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow."

She tucked me in bed and turned off the lights and left my room closing the door gently behind her.
