Starbucks – Cameron Dallas Imagine for Kaycee

I sighed, pushing open the door to a Starbucks and feeling the cool air on my face. It was burning hot hear in Chino Hills, where I was visiting my grandmother for the summer. It was currently 102 degrees, and I could feel the sweat on my back, just from taking the ten minute walk here. The air felt good on my skin. I pulled on the strap of my tank top, trying to let my shoulders get some of the air conditioning. The café was packed, but I didn’t care. I trudged up to the counter, my flip flops almost slipping off because of the sweat on my feet.

“Hi,” said the barista who was standing behind the cash register. She gave me a smile. Her brown hair was pulled up into a bow shaped bun on top of her head, very cute. “How can I help you?” she asked.

“Hi,” I said, glancing up at the menu. But who am I kidding? I’m getting the usual. “I’ll have a Venti Orange Mango Smoothie,” I smiled at her again before glancing down at her nametag, Gracie.

“Okay! Do we have a name for this?” she asked, the smile still not leaving her face.

“Kaycee, I said. Spelled K-A-Y-C-E-E,” I said. The baristas here never got my name right.

“Cool! That’ll be $4.17.” I paid and grabbed my smoothie as soon as it was ready, and glanced around the café for an open bench. I walked up and down the narrow aisle.

There were no open seats.

“Hey,” a voice said from behind me. I turned and wiped some of the loose hairs out of my face.

“Hi,” I said to the most beautiful boy I’d ever seen. He sat at a booth by himself. A blue and black striped tank top hung off his shoulders and a pair of khaki shorts adorned his legs. He smiled, white teeth showing. His brown hair was spiked up in the front. He was adorable.

“Do you want to sit with me? I know it’s packed in here and burning hot outside,” he said.

“Oh…” I said, looking around, automatically feeling uncomfortable. I couldn’t embarrass myself in front of someone as beautiful as him!

“Come on,” he said. “You can’t go back outside.”

“Okay,” I said, sliding into the booth. I was a bit cooler now, and taking a huge sip from my smoothie cup.

“You’re really pretty,” the boy blurted out.

“Oh,” I said, feeling my face heat up as fast as I’d started sweating outside… very fast. “Thanks,” I said.

“Of course,” he said, a smile easing its way across his cheeks.

“I see you’re drinking an Orange Mango Smoothie, too,” he said.

I glanced up at him and then down at the drink in his hand. Orange.

“It’s the drink of the gods,” I said, laughing.

“Oh you’re so cute when you laugh,” the brown hair boy said, gazing at me.

“Thank you,” I said, still feeling extremely flattered.

“I think your phone’s broken,” the boy said.

“What?” I asked, glancing down at the phone in my hand. It didn’t look broken to me…

“Because it doesn’t have my number in it!” the boy laughed out loud. I giggled to myself. Oh, those cheesy pick-up lines.

“That one was good,” I said.

“Oh, I know, but seriously, what do you say? Can I have your number?” he asked, grinning ear to ear.

“Sure… uh…?” I said, wondering what his name was.

“Cameron,” he said.

“Kaycee.”
