• Alicia's mothers POV •
Josie had posted a letter into my letter box which I was surprised to see.
I picked up the letter and made my way to the kitchen.
"Mail?" Eric asked.
"Yer, Ali's friend sent it over." I said.
"Well, are you gonna open it?" Eric asked.
"Okay." I said.
I looked at the front of it, "it's signed for the both of us." I pointed out.
"Then read it aloud." Eric said whilst slipping his coffee.
Hey mother and step- douche Eric,
I want you to know that I wasn't happy.
I always wanted my real father back.
Sometimes I felt like you were really ignorant about my happiness and only concentrated on your own.
Now I realise that was just selfish of me.
I'm sorry I couldn't be the daughter that you always wanted, I'm sorry I was a pain, I'm sorry I said all those hurtful things and I'm sorry for being so ignorant.
Just know that I love you all and I hope you can understand why I did what I did.
It's just father had always been that missing piece of the puzzle that I needed in my life.
But I need you to know that the reason I did what I did is not because of you, but because of the 'hell' of everything.
School, the lot.
I just felt so shitty with my life and I felt this was the only escape.
Anyways I love you with all my heart,
Alicia x
"Why'd she write that?" Eric asked.
"I don't know." I said honestly.
I quickly called up Josie to figure this out.
"Hello?" Josie asked.
"Josie what's the letter about? Where's my baby?" I asked panicked.
"Ali made the letters because-" she paused.
"Because what?" I asked impatiently.
"Because she killed herself." She blurted out.
"She killed herself in the school girls bathroom, using a shotgun to the head." She said.
I looked over to Eric, "how do you know?" I asked.
"I was walking by when I heard the gun shot. I ran into the girls toilet and saw her laying on the floor with blood splattered everywhere." I heard her cry.
"Oh god." I said.
I then pulled the phone away from my ear.
"I told you not to keep a gun in the house?!" I shouted at Eric.
"What?" He asked confused.
"My daughter killed herself today, using your gun?!" I shouted.
"And now she's dead." I said whilst dropping to the floor.
Tears poured down my face, causing my vision to blur.
"Josie?" I asked.
"Yes." Josie replied.
"How did you find this letter?" I asked.
"She left them behind in a box, she asked for someone to hand out all the letters which I did." She said.
"Was there anything else?" I asked.
"Yes, in the box was all her favourite photos she hung up in her room and there was one letter left which she gave specific orders for." Josie said.
"And that was?" I asked.
"She said that for her one wish she wants the letter that says 'Everybody' to be read at her funeral, and that she wants you to read it." She finished.
I choked on my own tears, "she wants me to read it?" I asked.
"Yes, it's what the sticky note said in her box." Josie said.
I just nodded my head and said 'ok'.
"Thank you." I said then hung up.
I let the tears and the continuous sobs ruin me.
My baby is gone! My own child is gone!
I felt Eric rub my arm but it didn't comfort me.
My baby girl has now been taken away from me.
My own baby!
