Chapter 9

Indhu's POV

1 Month later

I wake up to find the bed empty next to me.

He didn't come home last night. I remember.

Walking into the bathroom, I finish my normal morning routine. Walking downstairs, I don't find anyone. The lights are off.

I walk into the kitchen, make a cup of coffee, and decide to watch tv. When I walk into the living room, the lights turn on, and people jump out, shouting happy birthday. I let out a scream and nearly drop my cup of coffee.

"Happy birthday Indhu!" My friends all shout. I smile.

"Thank you guys!" I say, and we get into a huge group hug.

Lav, Mehu, Naishu, Ishu, and I decide to go shopping.

The guys leave, claiming they have a lot of work, not that we could care. We go to KLM, Chennai shopping mall, and a few other places before going to my favorite restaurant.

After we finish dinner at the restaurant, the girls go back home, but I decide to check up on Surya. Not one call, not one text from him all day.

I stop an auto, and tell him to go to Laal Banglow. He takes me there. Getting down, I give him Rs. 40. Taking my two shopping bags, I walk up to the banglow when a constable stops me.

"Evaru kaavali madam?" the man asks.

"Who do you want madam?" the man asks.

"Surya..."

"Sir meetinglo unnaru."

"Sir is in a meeting."

"Oh. Avuna. Sare nenu wait chesthanu." I say, smiling.

"Oh. Really. Ok then. I will wait." I say, smiling.

I stand outside, waiting. But I don't see Surya. I look at my phone, and see that the time is now 8:30.

"Indhu?" I hear Dhruva.

"Oh Hi." I say, turning around.

"Emaindi?" he asks, concerned.

"What happened?" he asks, concerned.

"Oh. Em ledu. Adi,Surya..." I say, pointing towards the Banglow.

"Oh. Nothing. Um, Surya..." I say, pointing towards the Banglow.

Dhruva looks back.

"Idigo, vastunnadu. Nenu velthanu." he says.

"There, he's coming. I'll take leave." he says.

"ah. Sare. Thanks bye." I reply as he walks away.

"Yea. Sure. Thanks bye." I reply as he walks away.

Surya walks up to me.

"Ey! Indhu!" he says, shocked to see me.

"Hey! Indhu!" he says, shocked to see me.

"Veldama?" I ask.

"Lets go?" I ask.

"Ah. Yea. Sure. Pada." he says, leading me to the car.

"Yea. Sure. Lets go." he says, leading me to the car.

I get in without a word, and he does the same.

He starts to drive.

"Indhu, nuvvu ikkada?" he asks.

"Indhu, you here?" he asks.

"Ee roju ento marchipoyava?" I ask him.

"Did you forget what it is today?" I ask him.

"Emundi ee roju?" he asks.

"What is it today?" he asks.

"Surya, nijanga marchipoyava?" I ask.

"Surya, did you really forget?" I ask.

"Sorry. Gurthukuledu. Oka sari cheptava please." he replies.

"Sorry. I don't remember. Can you please remind me again." he replies.

"Ee roju naa puttina roju." I say.

"Today is my birthday." I say.

"Oh shit. Sorry. Nijanga marchipoyanu. Panilo undi..."

"Oh shit. Sorry. I really forgot. I had work..."

I put my hand up, stopping him.

"Car aapu." I say.

"Stop the car." I say.

He looks at me.

"Indhu?"

"I said, stop the car."

He stops the car. I get out and close the door.

"Vellu."

"Go."

"Indhu nuvvu..."

"Indhu you..."

"Nenu bane unta."

"I will be fine."

"Ok." he says. "See you."

"Hm." I just nod and he drives off. I start walking towards the direction of the house when I hear voices behind me.

I turn, and see some guys walking towards me.

"Abba. Mama, kaththi la undira." one of them says as they circle me.

"Wow. She is so hot man." one of them says as they circle me.

I look around me, and no one is there.

Oh no. I am dead.
