Episode 19 - Silver and Gold

"How--" Lloyd gasps, stepping away from me.

I extinguish the flame and smile sheepishly. "I am a First Spinjitzu Master."

"That's not possible," Mom protests. "It was foretold that the Green Ninja would be the First Spinjitzu Master."

"And the scrolls were right. Lloyd is a First Spinjitzu Master," I say.

"You mean, there are two First Spinjitzu Masters?" Zane asks.

"Sort of," I reply. "I still don't fully understand it, but I think the powers of the First Spinjitzu Master were split between the two of us."

"That doesn't make sense. Why would they be split?" Mom says, skeptical of my explanation.

"Because Tasha was never supposed to go to the Underworld," Uncle says.

Everyone turns to him, shocked.

"She was originally supposed to be the Green Ninja. She's had her powers since she was born. Misako, you cannot deny this. I saw it, you saw it, and Garmadon saw it. We all recognized it as the powers of the first Spinjitzu Master, which is why she was taken. If you remember, Lloyd's powers didn't start to show until after she was taken."

"So you're saying that my destiny was changed," I say.

Uncle nods. "I believe that when Garmadon began using your power for evil, a part of your power left you. The part that is good was transferred to Lloyd."

Uncle turns his gaze to everyone before continuing.

"Tasha has the same powers as Lloyd. Earth, Fire, Lightning and Ice. They all come together to create the most simple, the most powerful, and the most important element to our world: Energy. That is the power of the First Spinjitzu Master and that is half power that both Lloyd and Tasha have.

"Lloyd has green energy, good energy, light energy, representing the light side of the force; Tasha has purple energy, evil energy, dark energy, representing the dark side of the force. It was split this way in order to maintain the balance. If Lloyd hadn't inherited the better half of the power that once belonged completely to Tasha, the Balance would have been shifted by her evil acts.

"Tasha is right. She is a first spinjitzu master and so is Lloyd. Together, they match the power of my father. Together they are the first Spinjitzu Master and together they will defeat the Overlord."

I stare at my Uncle, mouth hanging open. He just explained my entire life in a way I could never think to explain it, but it all makes sense. Of course, this is all just speculation, but it's the best explanation we have and it makes sense.

A sharp pain shoots through my chest again. I press the palm of my hand to my chest, gritting my teeth.

"Tasha? What's wrong?" Lloyd says, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Nothing," I say. The pain grows more intense and I fall to my knees.

"That is not nothing," Kai says, rushing to my side.

I shut my eyes and take a ragged breath, urging the pain to go away. "I can feel the balance shifting," I finally say. "I can feel the increase in dark energy and it hurts."

"We have to get to Ninjago City and stop the Overlord," Uncle says.

"But how? There is an ocean that we have no means of crossing in our way!" Jay exclaims rapidly.

"Then we have to swim," Kai says.

"The entire ocean!? But I didn't bring my floaties!"

"Well, if you got a better plan," Cole says, crossing his arms.
