Y/N Gold was someone in this world ruled by money...
After fifteen or so minutes the food arrived, me ordering a seafood ramen noodle soup and chicken tempura while Lionel ordered a salmon teriyaki rice and two salmon and avocado temaki. The both of us getting a latte as a drink.
"So, Mr. Shabandar" I said as I took a pair of chopsticks "why don't we play a game?"
"Game?" questioned Lionel as he too took a pair of chopstick "What game do you want us to play here Ms. Gold?"
"A questions game, to get to know each other better" I said softly
"Well, since it's your idea, why don't you start"
"Alright then" I said with a smile "what's your favourite colour"
"Really? you're gonna ask me that?" questioned Lionel as he took a piece of salmon with his chopsticks
"We're starting easy; it'll get more interesting as we go"
"Alright then" said Lionel with a small smile "I don't have a particular favourite colour, but if it were for me to choose I'd say it's gold" he then took the chopsticks to his mouth and took a bite from his food
"Thought as much" I replied to his answer, before taking a bite of my own
"What do you mean?" he questioned after he swallowed his food
"Well, the colour gold is associated with achievement, triumph, and success." I smiled to which Lionel smiled as well
"Really?" he questioned and I nodded "tell me more" he went on and my face lit up.
Okay, now this may sound depressing but no one in the past has cared about all the theoretical stuff when it came to colours, ergo, no one asked me to tell them more about it.
"Well, the psychology of this hue connotes opulence, material wealth, and extravagance. It is associated with plenty and success, luxury and quality, prestige and refinement, value and elegance." I said with a smile "Gold, in its physical condition, indicates riches and status in every country, culture, and market in the world today; it is perhaps the most precious and readily traded commodity in the global market place. And, compared to silver, which is connected with feminine energy and the sensitivity of the moon, the golden hue is related to male energy and the might of the sun."
Lionel let out an impressed hum before smiling softly at me "Where did you learn all about this?"
"I believe it's my turn to ask the question" I said to which he chuckled and shook his head
"Fair enough, but you didn't tell me that that question will be included in the game" said Lionel to which I pursed my lips
"Oops" I chuckled soft "I don't have a question for you anyway soo, you can ask what you wanted to ask"
Lionel chuckled yet again and then spoke "Where did you learn about all of this colour stuff?"
"Colour theory at the College, it was the only thing I remember from my colour theory class" I chuckled softly "but luckily this is the most important thing sooo, yes"
"Got it" said Lionel softly "Want to ask the next question?"
"I do actually" I said to which he chuckled "do you see yourself doing something other than business?"
"Hmm, no actually" he replied "I guess I've been so used to doing business that I can't, and don't really want to see myself doing anything else"
"Why though?" I questioned softly
"I mean...I've been taught what I needed to know about, this" he said, and by 'this' referring to the mafia "since the age of fifteen and since twenty it was the only thing that I've done, so even thinking about doing something else weirds me out"
I nodded at him reply and then smiled
"Now it's your turn to ask a question" I said before taking a bite of my food
"Hmm, let me think" said he, taking another piece of salmon and bringing it in his mouth "why did you chose, design and not something else?" he questioned after swallowing his food
"Well, since I was little I liked playing with the curtains of our living-room" I chuckled "one time when I was five I cut some of the curtain and made a dress, my mother laughed at how one curtain was shorter than the other one so she decided to cut the longer one and give me the rest of the material to play with it...needless to say I was very happy"
"I did something like this once too" chuckled Lionel
"No way...tell me more!"
"Well, it wasn't with a curtain but I remember being around...four and a half, five years old and I went into my father's office and started typing absolute nonsense in a word document that was opened" he said as I took a bite of my food "needless to say my father wasn't really happy...and he definitely didn't have the same reaction as your mother"
"You said you and your father weren't really close...but I still don't get why? I mean, didn't he teach you everything you needed to know about...stuff?"
"Yes but that was because he was needed to, I was the male sex child in the family so, it was expected of me to take on everything"
"But, you said you had to compare assets with your sister" I pointed out as he took a bite of his food
"Yes, that was because...somehow, after college my sister got into some type of business and she got a lot of money out of it in a short time" he said after swallowing his food
"What's the age difference between you two?" I inquired before taking a bite on my own meal
"She's five years younger than me" he said "and funny enough that our birthdays are close to one another"
"When's yours?" I asked.
"I'm going to turn forty-one on August 15th, and Jessica is turning thirty-six on August 25th" he replied
If it wasn't obvious, by now both of us have forgotten about the game and were just randomly asking questions, and soon enough, me and Lionel finished our meals, he paid for the food and then we were on our way to one of the clothing shops from the mall
