Y/N Gold was someone in this world ruled by money...
And so the next morning arrived, July 9th...the day of my graduation
To be fair, I was both excited and nervous at the same time, but I was also slightly sad...
And it wasn't because I was finishing college, no.
It was because my mother wouldn't be there...and I would have to face Grace after finding out she ratted me out to her father
"Y/N, darling, are you okay?" Lionel asked softly as he entered the walk-in-closet, seeing me standing in front of the mirror...still in my bath robe, since not too long ago I got out of the shower
"I think..." I said, looking in the mirror before looking at him "I don't know..."
Lionel let out a small chuckle before walking towards me
"Nervous?" he questioned, placing his hands on my waist
"Yeah" I replied "but I'm also excited and...a bit sad"
"Why sad?" he asked and I pursed my lips
"Well, I'm gonna see Grace today, and she hasn't been the best, you know?"
"Elaborate, please" Lionel said with his iconic eyebrow raise, which made me chuckle slightly
"Grace told her father, who's taking care of my mother, about you coming there before the police...and about me being close with you." I explained "So, naturally my mother asked me if I knew you."
"And that's when you asked me to come in?" Lionel butted in and I nodded
"It's like she backstabbed me, used my problems against me" I said
"I'm sure that wasn't her intention" Lionel said before kissing my forehead "now, how about you start getting ready and then we go to the graduation ceremony...and afterwards we celebrate in any way you want..."
"Any way?" I questioned
"Any way..." he repeated
"Alright then" I smiled before kissing the tip of his nose "Shoo, I need to change"
"I've already seen you naked..." Lionel said as he looked at me, blinking twice after those words escaped his mouth
"Still, shoo" I said, playfully pushing him away, trying my best not to laugh at his expression
"Okay, okay I'm going" He said, throwing his hands up in defence before chuckling and leaving the closet
