When breakfast time arrived the next morning, Jessica and Cait decided to join us because of the doctor's appointment that they had

"Can I ask something?" asked Emily with her mouth full

"No talking with your mouth fully, Mily" Lionel pointed out as he looked at her "but of course, what is it?"

"Where do babies come from?" she asked and I chocked on my food, while Jessica and Cait looked at each other and tried not to laugh

"Are you wondering how you were born?" Jessica asked, only for her to afterwards to smirk at Lionel, who glared at her

However, Emily nodded at Jessica's words and I cleared my throat

"Well, darling, when it came for you, me and your father had...intimate relationships, from which I became pregnant with you" I explained in the best way possible, while Lionel was glaring at Jessica, who was smirking at him

"But that's not how all babies are born" Lionel said, his gaze changing to Emily

"What do you mean?" she asked with a slight frown

"Why don't we let aunt Jessica explain" he said, leaning in his chair and smirking at her "she and Cait are preparing for a child"

"Thank you for the food, it was delicious, imma go to the living-room and wait there" Cait said quickly, getting up and leaving the room, making me chuckle softly

"I agree with Cait, we should probably leave, plus, won't Mily be late to school?" she asked

"Actually she's staying home today since September 1st was Saturday" I replied before pecking Emily's forehead to which she giggled

"Yup, me and mama will spend time together!" Emily beamed

"Well, in that case we're going to leave" Lionel said before he too got up and kissed my lips, then he kissed his daughter's forehead "I'll be home after lunch"

"Okay love" I smile before we all bid each other goodbye and Lionel along with his sister and Cait left

"I'm driving; you get in the backseat" I said as I open the door to the driver's seat

"Why? I'm a great driver" Jessica said as her wife got in the back seat

"Last time you drove my car you crashed it" I pointed out to which my sister rolled her eyes and got in the car as well

The drive towards the clinic was quiet, but I could see Cait being anxious through the rear view mirror

"You two alright back there?" I asked, looking at the two of them through the mirror

"A bit anxious" replied Cait

"Why?"

"What if it won't work?"

"Darling, everything will be okay" cooed Jessica as she held Cait close to her "You're on your IVF medicine and, thankfully, our donor is healthy"
