"What's that sound..."

En route to New Roanoke

Back onboard a bird, this time it's the Osprey. The flying death trap soaring and puttering its way through the sky. Everybody was seated inside and asleep at the moment. He doesn't blame them. It was late at night, and they just had about nearly a full day of adrenaline pumping fighting. He would want to sleep on a ride back home too. He looks at all of the operators, the camera that's just facing out the front window to record the ride. Okay at some point that's going to be a security breach, he thought to himself as he eyes the operator next to him.

Exusiai.

Lovely little lady she is. Loves guns, apple pie, is a literal Angel, and has saved their bacon multiple times, first with that armored crab fucker, and now helped finish the Mission by calling in that Gunrun. A literal guardian Angel.

He can feel nagging at the back of his head from his parents about this girl, but he shook those thoughts off. Now wasn't the time, and that wasn't very professional.

Okay he just now realized how short he was as he now looks at her, then Dunn, than Foley. He was 162 centimeters — or 5.3 feet — and as he compared himself to some of the others, he was still pretty small.

Granted not smaller than the little catgirl Jessica over there, but still, it's funny.

Might be his genetics, he doesn't know.

It was now about 1 in the morning. The Osprey still chugging along as, in the distance, it looks like the Engineer Corps has finally finished setting up the Space Port. Spotlights and bright LEDs marking the facilities position and towers, to prevent any aircraft from crashing into it at Night. It's a beautiful sight as a pattern of colors and lights danced up and down the structures.

He was about to go back to resting, when he heard the radio spark, "Hope you folks got some sleep, because it looks like a political shitstorm is heading our way."

Ramirez blinked and then realized how close they were to the base.

Fuck my life

The Osprey landed on base and, immediately, considering they were the only one there, there was a flood of reporters and people asking questions. From the way they behaved, from the way they looked, they weren't Earthling reporters yet.

And judging by the 'Lungmen' emblems all over some of their vehicles...

Oh boy, he can already guess how this is going to go. If anything, he was thankful that they were being held back by the little chainlink dividing the main from the airfield. Don't tell me we willingly let them on the base... the Military Police guarding everything did somewhat reassure him.

"Sorry Ramirez, we tried to keep them away... you and your friends are gonna have to deal with them. Hopefully Ms. Sawyer can get them off your backs," somebody on the radio commented, before they began again, "Oh, and we had to detain Lana, there's something up with her and her... 'Arts'"

He thought back to the M72 LAW and he could only gulp. Fearing now on what had the little Lupo done, he started sounding the internal alarm of the Osprey, which began to wake everybody up. "Sorry folks," he only muttered as Foley gets up and hears the reporters outside.

"Well goddamn... we woke up the mob..." Foley stretched, standing up as he went. "Alright listen up, we need the LGD Guards and anybody with riot shields here to help disperse the mob, we will come back when we are comfortable to answer their questions." Slowly, Ramirez watched all of the operators and his fellow Rangers be aroused from their naps.
