One year ago
Finally I'll be going to my dream college St. Xaviers for my post graduation. My dream college for which I had worked hard. I came out of my trance due to a phone call. It's Nick.
"Aksh I just got the list of students who got admission in St. Xaviers and your name is not their" Nick said in tensed voice.
"What......" I freaked out.
No no this can't happen
It's my dream and I can't let it shatter.
"Teri toh aankh kamzor hai tune dhyaan se dekha nhi hoga" I reasoned out trying my best to be positive.
(Your eyesight is weak you wouldn't have checked properly)
"Maine 3 baar check kia hai. Phir bhi confirmation ke liye tu bhi dekh maine send kardia hai" she replied and I nodded my head as if she could see me.
(I have checked 3 times still for confirmation you should check too. I have sent already)
I checked the list for more than 5 times and I couldn't find my name.
My dream is almost shattered.
I felt numb everything stopped infront of me. I couldn't breathe. My heart thumping loudly as if it will explode any time. Someone shooked me and tears pooled in my eyes. I turned towards the person it's Advik bhaiya.
"What happed Akshu ?" He asked worriedly.
"You are crying ? Why ?" He cupped my face and wiped my tears with his thumb.
"Bhaiya this is the list of University students and my name is not written here. I checked many times but it's not. You please contact them na" I said breathing heavily.
"Okay! I will but right now it's too late they won't answer the call. So I'll call in tomorrow morning" he engulfed me in a hug.
"But....." he cut me mid-way.
"You don't worry Akshu nothing is wrong. Maybe by mistake they haven't written your name in list. I myself has done all the admission procedure there is no chance something goes wrong" he tried to pacify me and I nodded in yes.
"Let's go for dinner and sleep" he broke the hug.
"No I don't have appetite you go and have" I denied and moved to the corner of bed.
"Wait a minute then" he said and moved out off my room. He came back withing a minute with a glass of milk.
"Bhaiya nooo........." I screamed in annoyance.
"Just shut up I am not listening anything. I won't let you sleep empty stomach either dinner or milk" he pulled me and placed the glass near my lips.
"Bhaiya....." I scrunched my nose but he glared at me. I drank the milk unwillingly.
"Good girl" he wiped my lips with his hand and tucked me to the bed.
"Bhaiya everything will be alright na ?" I asked in confirmation.
"Yes now please sleep" he patted on my head and I closed my eyes. After sometimes he left from my room. While I tried to sleep but sleep was far away from my eyes. All the bad thoughts running in my bad.
What if my admission has been cancelled ?
What will I do ?
My whole year will be wasted ?
All night I was tossing on the bed and I couldn't get a wink of sleep.
