'I don't know where things went wrong.'

You say, "I don't understand" and I say, "I know you don't"

It seemed only yesterday when you held me in your arms and asked me to run away with you. Somewhere only we knew. Somewhere far where no one knew us and we could be anyone.

You, the artist and me, a merchant's daughter.

We thought a cure would come through in time, now, I fear it won't

We laughed and thought about that life but we stayed and thought we could make it work. Despite the gnawing feeling that the simple life we wanted was something we both wouldn't survive.

And here I thought love conquers all.

       Apparently not.

Remember lookin' at this room, we loved it 'cause of the light
Now, I just sit in the dark and wonder if it's time

The paint on his cheek made her laugh. Spots of pink covered his black apron. Madara grinned, with the hand holding the paint brush outstretched he asked, "So, how does it look?"

"Cozy. I think the baby will love it."

Fresh sunlight streamed through the large open window illuminating the freshly painted nursery. Bright and warm, brimming with love and care of every stroke of the brush.

Arien burst out laughing. Madara rolled his eyes as he re-tied his hair. The sound of her laughter making his heart smile.

       "Mads, it's so...pink."

He wanted to paint it red and she wanted a sweet, cream colour in the end they ended up with a beautiful baby pink coat for the nursery.

"I happen to think it looks nice." He retorted as he surveyed the room making sure no spot was missed. "Though," He continued with hesitance, "What if it's really a boy?"

She simply smiled, shrugged and said knowing the tests weren't exactly accurate, "So?"

Do I throw out everything we built or keep it?

'All that time spent decorating this room all for nothing. I think I should burn it down.'

I'm getting tired even for a phoenix
Always risin' from the ashes
Mendin' all her gashes
You might just have dealt the final blow
