"The oldblood."

"WE ALL KNOW that the tale of Dracula was inspired by a certain Romanian Warrior prince in the mid fourteen hundreds. A king who was so bloodthirsty his son was referred to as the 'son of Dracula.' A Romanian word that could be translated to the Devil. I do not wish to confuse you younglings but I must make one thing clear, Count Dracula was never a Vampire, and is not the first, though I do marvel at his origin story. And for that, I shall give credit where due," he chuckled before leaning against the desk with a slight huff.

"There are four classes of Vampire," he began, "the first I shall begin to discuss today are that of the OldBloods, or what humans now better describe as the purebloods. In our fictional societies, Vlad Dracula would be considered one of these, the first of his kind, the prime." he trailed off, pausing for a moment, "I shall speak of three others, Ambrogio and Grossowa and Obayi- the only three lines of Pure Blood Vampires. I do wish to explain their origin stories in detail, but time does not permit me if indeed I do wish to finish the topic of Deceptions before we are to part tomorrow."

I glanced over at Claire when he said this, noting her sullen face, as I realized was the rest of the Class. I couldn't even blame anyone at this point. It was sad that we had to part with him so soon and that tomorrow would be our last class.

"Having this in mind," Mr. Ogustus continued, "I shall briefly discuss all the four classes of Vampire before we tackle those of the Fallen. There are three Races of Old Blood, Ambrogrio, Grossowa, and Obayi. Each of these three lines began at different times in history. Ambrogrio's began in the age of Ancient Greece, the time myths lived as mere days in reality. There is a whole love story of Ambrogio, the most powerful Old blood family line of the three, that is legendary in itself as entails of the goddess Selene, and her origin story," he paused, taking a deep breath in, "it is a shame time forbids us to indulge in it."

We all groaned in protest at the matter but one hand lifted was enough to shut all of us up again, "Now, now Younglings, it is impossible to learn every secret from my lips, it is important you learn how to discover in your means. I shall not be with you for long, our time is near elapsing." When he said this, I could already feel the sadness seep in through all directions. It only meant that by this time next week, all these new faces around me would be replaced with even newer ones.

I wouldn't see David or Naaka or even Yekaterina.

"However," he added, "there is a place where every story I speak of lives. The Archives of Greater Knowledge is the only Library in the world that will reveal mysteries even greater than the ones I have taught. You would be considered wise to use it to your advantage," he hinted.

That was pretty straightforward. I was owing myself another trip to the library anyway. I think I would love to spend my weekend there reading, just as I used to at home. I owed myself a break from everything that I had been through in the last week alone.

"The timelines of these three bloodlines are essential to you. The first was Ambrogrio in the times of Ancient Greece, the second was Obayi in the heart of Africa just as the Nubian Kings arose and lastly Grossowa, as the black death in the European era transposed of all life," he explained, "and as the order, I have listed so go their power. The most powerful Ambrogrio and then Obayi and lastly, Grossowa. This first Class of Vampire is lord over every other kind and Class of Vampire, whether humanoid or creature and for good reason.

Other than their obvious power stemming from being the first or the prime of their kind, another power advantage is they have ultimate control over their beastly natures whether in a blood moon or full moon. You must note, younglings, when one is designed as a vampire, the most important element is control."

After a pause, I assumed was left there to make sure we were taking in information he moved on.

"Listing the other classes in no particular order, the second Class of Vampire is known as the Strigoi- these are the most bloodthirsty of all kinds of Vampires. They look Human and may act human but their urges have driven them into insanity. They lust for blood and will thrive on nothing else. They do not show compassion or any emotion that would classify them within the bounds of humanity-" his gaze was hard as he stared at each one of us as if trying to get this across to us in the firmest way possible,

"They are not to be played, or toiled with. They are stronger and faster than any other vampire known. Worthy opponents to seasoned converts and deadly predators to mere humans. You will identify them by their bloodshot eyes, pale skin, and inability to walk in the sunlight. They are warriors of Vampiric nature and show no loyalty unless to its bloodline of Oldblood or its creator."

At this point, I was solely invested in this whole vampiric tale. I knew Count Dracula has only based on the Roman Prince thanks to Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, but everything else was being fed into my brain as I listened to Mr. Ogustus teach.

"The next class of vampire is called, Bitten or Turned," he shrugged and chuckled as a hand rose, answering the question without even hearing it being asked, "Yes, it is possible to turn into a Vampire and no it is not as simple as a single vampire bite-" he paused then slightly shrugged, " at least not a bite from a mere vampire," he corrected.

"As the name of the class would suggest, a turned or a bitten is a newly formed Vampire. This kind of Vampire is by far the most reckless and unusual, maybe even more dangerous than a Strigoi on account of pure folly. It seems when one is bitten by a vampiric creature or OldBlood that is the only circumstance when one may be transformed into a Bitten. To discuss this further we must discuss the last class of Vampire- the Vizire."

My eyebrows arched at this name. I didn't think I had ever heard of this kind of Vampire before.

"The Vizire is a collective name. It does not refer to one specific kind of Vampire but falls under a whole classification. In many mythologies, you will hear of Vampiric creatures like the Mananangal or the Lilitu, all kinds of vampiric creatures that are not human, although some do have the ability to shift into humanoid versions. Vizire are animals, they are not to be reasoned with and can be summoned or sent by their creators or the Prime Oldbloods.

They usually kill, without hesitation. But there are instances where people do escape with a bite-And these bites are what turns them into Bitten undead.
