Chapter Seven - Hidden Knowledge

Alexandria wanders through the various rows of books, trying to see if she can find what they are looking for. She begins to pull books from the shelves and flips through the pages. Seeing if she can find what they are searching for. Unable to find anything, she puts the books back on the shelf with a grunt. She continues to do this several more times until she grows frustrated.

"How are we supposed to find what we need? There have to be thousands of books in this library," She yells out to Crowley.

As Alexandria's frustration mounts from her fruitless search among the myriad rows of books, she makes her way toward the reading lounge area, drawn by the allure of the beautiful stone-carved fireplace. The flickering flames cast dancing shadows across the room, illuminating the intricate details of the two stone statues of ravens perched on the mantel. Intrigued, Alexandria approaches the left statue and begins to inspect it more closely. The stone feels cool beneath her fingertips as she runs them over the intricately carved feathers and beak. But it's the eyes that capture her attention—their brilliant crimson hue gleaming with an otherworldly intensity.

Curiosity piqued, Alexandria leans in closer, studying the statue with a keen eye. There's something about how the light plays off the stone, a hidden depth that seems to beckon her closer.

"Crowley, come have a look at this," Alexandria calls out, her voice echoing softly in the quiet stillness of the library. She gestures towards the statue, her excitement palpable as she waits for his response.

As Crowley joins her by the fireplace, Alexandria can't help but feel a surge of anticipation. He leans against the mantle and inspects the raven. They give Alexandria a confused look.

"I don't think what we are looking for lies in the statue of this raven, little angel," says Crowley.

"Trust me, something isn't right about these statues; look at the right one," Alexandria gestures to the right statue, causing Crowley to move towards it. Crowley's curiosity is piqued as Alexandria directs his attention to the right statue. He steps closer, his eyes narrowing as he inspects the intricately carved features of the raven. The statue's eyes, devoid of the gleaming gemstones that adorned its counterpart, seem to stare back at him with a piercing intensity.

"And what exactly am I looking for?" Crowley's voice takes on a bit of a teasing tone to it.

"Look at the eyes of this one; it doesn't have the stones in it," says Alexandria as her gaze remains fixed on the empty sockets of the statue, a sense of determination shining in her eyes.

"Perhaps they fell out; who knows, my dear," Crowley shrugs his shoulders.

Crowley's nonchalant response doesn't deter Alexandria's determination. She leans in closer to the statue, her eyes narrowing as she examines the empty sockets with a keen intensity. There's a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, a sense that there's more to these statues than meets the eye.

"Maybe they did fall out," Alexandria concedes, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "But what if there's more to it than that? What if these statues hold a clue to what we're searching for?"

She casts a meaningful glance at Crowley, her eyes alight with a spark of curiosity.

"Well, I am going to start looking again for any books that deal with prophecies on Armageddon. You have fun with your statues," said Crowley with a teasing glint in his eyes.

Crowley began to do his signature strut away from Alexandria, causing her to mumble under her breath. As she watched him strut away with his characteristic swagger, a playful glint in his eyes, she couldn't help but shake her head in fond exasperation.
