Chapter Ten - Fall from Grace

"Alrighty, guess we better get into it..." Alexandria says with a slight smile on her face. Alexandria begins recounting the events of their adventure at the manor; she focuses on highlighting the main exciting bits while carefully omitting the finer details of her and Crowley's interactions. Aware of Aziraphale's protective nature and his perception of her as a younger sibling, she chooses to sidestep any mention of Crowley's flirtations, not wanting to cause any undue concern or discomfort.

With a slight smile on her face, Alexandria regales Aziraphale with tales of their exploration of the mysterious library, the discovery of ancient tomes, and the unexpected twists and turns they encountered along the way. She paints a vivid picture of their journey, capturing the excitement and intrigue that fueled their quest to uncover the secrets of Armageddon.

Alexandria's enthusiasm shines through as she speaks, her eyes alight with the thrill of adventure and discovery. She knows that Aziraphale will appreciate the gravity of their mission and the importance of the information they have gathered, and she hopes that by focusing on the broader strokes of their adventure, she can convey the urgency and significance of their findings without delving into the complexities of her relationship with Crowley.

As she finishes recounting their exploits, she leaves out one key detail: the mysterious portrait of the demon that closely resembles her. Alexandria looks at Crowley nervously, wondering if she should tell Aziraphale about the mysterious painting that resembles her—not wanting to frighten Aziraphale with this knowledge. She tries to have a silent conversation with her eyes on Crowley. Hoping he will step forward and talk about the painting they discovered in the secret room with all the books. Crowley furrows his eyebrows and doesn't understand why Alexandria is so nervous about telling Aziraphale. He coughs and grabs Aziraphale's attention.

Crowley stands up and tells Aziraphale about the mysterious painting they discovered in the secret room. Alexandria feels a wave of anxiety washes over her. She watches intently as Crowley recounts their encounter with the portrait, their words carrying a sense of intrigue and curiosity. She knows that his perspective on the painting will provide valuable insights and perspectives, helping shed light on the mysteries surrounding their quest.

As Crowley speaks, Alexandria listens attentively, her gaze shifting between him and Aziraphale, her mind filled with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. She knows the revelation of the painting's resemblance to her may raise questions and concerns. Still, she trusts Aziraphale's wisdom and understanding to navigate the complexities of their discovery.

And as the conversation unfolds, Alexandria's nerves begin to grow. She tries to find a way to calm herself. Unknowingly, she begins to twist the ring around her finger. The feeling of cold metal against her skin causes a sense of bewilderment to wash over her. She looks down at her hand, her gaze drawn to the ring that Crowley had miraculously miracled on her finger earlier. Confusion clouds her thoughts as she wonders why the ring didn't disappear when Aziraphale performed his miracle to change her clothes.

Hoping to conceal the ring from Crowley's notice, Alexandria discreetly moves her hand out of his vision, her heart fluttering with anticipation and uncertainty. With a soft snap of her fingers, she discreetly hides the ring under her shirt, securing it on a necklace where it remains out of sight.

As she lifts her hot cocoa to her lips, Alexandria feels a subtle smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, a silent acknowledgment of the secret she now carries close to her heart. At that moment, she savors the cocoa's warmth and the ring's comforting feeling against her chest.

"Well, I believe I covered it all, Alexandria. Did I miss anything?" Crowley looks over at Alexandria. She was distracted by the ring and didn't listen to what Crowley recounted about their adventure. A blush spreads across her cheeks as she looks Crowley in the eyes.
