In the cafeteria, we get in line to get our food. I don't know that I want to eat anything that might have been prepared by aliens. Then I remember that the peanut butter that I have been eating for days now is from an alien. Jake put the food in the house. Jake gave us the house. It is very possible that he did something to the food. If he did, then why would he take Paige?

My head is so full of questions that I can not answer. Would the aliens really go through all of this trouble to get to me? It seems kind of, no, really strange. I am just a human girl. I am not special or talented. It seems kind of stupid, but why else would they take Paige?

I don't even realize that it is my turn in the lunch line. The choices are something that resembles moldy mashed potatoes or something that smells like vomit. I am glad I never planned on eating the food. I choose the moldy mashed potatoes then go sit down next to Cara. Charity sits across from me and Adrian sits across from Cara. We, I mean they, eat in silence.

After they finish, four guards take us each by the arm. They lead us silently through a different hallway. It is like a maze and I am surprised that they know where they are going. It is so quiet that I wouldn't know Charity is crying if I didn't see the tears rolling down her cheeks. The guards each stop at a different room and unlock the doors. They gesture for us each to step in to the rooms. They lock the doors. And now they have us separated.
