Chapter 9

I knew that Morgan was giving me dirty looks because I was holding Jack's hand. I mean, why? She had 'Josh' didn't she? She did say Jack was hot afterall. . .

We were back at the food hall having lunch. I was sitting with Jack and a couple of his friends. Josh and Morgan were sitting at their own table too.

I felt so much more comfortable around Jack now. I really hoped he liked me back.

It was dark and people were filing out of the food hall to go back to their cabins for bed.

I had sat with Jack again.

We were the last few in there.

"So, does your leader have your phone?" He whispered.

I nodded.

He grinned, while shoving his hand in his pocket.

"I got the key for the box!" He said, still grinning.

I smiled back and he put the set of keys back into his pocket.

"How did you get that!" I asked excitedly once we were out of the hall.

"I saw where they put it,' he said, 'do you want your phone?"

I looked around making sure no one was listening.

"Yeah," I finally said.

"Alright,' he started, 'we've gotta go up to the top area first, but we'll have to go through the side to get  there, so we're not seen."

I only nodded and he led me through the forest and up to the sides of the buildings.

The moon shone brightly and cast shadows onto the pavement.

I wish he'd take my hand!

We finally reached the top area where the golden letters 'office' shone.

"Come on," he said.

We walked up to the office and we went through the set of keys, finding the one for the office. It was completely dark.

He swung the door open slowly and we walked in.

"When were you in here?" I asked.

"The other day," was all he said.

We walked down a small hallway and into another room. There were a few cupboards and storage boxes.

"Our's are in here," he said, walking over to a cupboard.

He unlocked it and opened the doors, revealing shelves with boxes of phones, all named with each group.

He searched a box and finally pulled out his phone.

"Find yours," he said, turning on his phone.

At first I hesitated.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked, looking up from his phone.

"I d-don't know. . ' I started, 'I mean, I'm doing the wrong thing."

He gave a slight scoff.

"Come on, just do it," he said, going back to his phone.
