"I hate you"

Your POV:
You were putting your daughter, Addison to bed when she starts crying. "Addi what's wrong" you say confused. "Daddy promised that he would be here to put me to bed" she sobs. "Baby, he's a busy man, he has to work late. He can do it tomorrow" I say. "No he said tonight. He promised" she cried. "How about you let me do it tonight and I will make you whatever you want for breakfast tomorrow" I say thoughtfully. "Fine" she says calming down. I put her into bed and sing her to sleep. Shawn has been really busy working on his third album so he hasn't really had time to be here. He feels bad about it, he's told me, it's just really hard to do everything at once. I understand though, I know it's hard, and I support him. As soon as I get into bed myself, I hear our bedroom door open and turn to see Shawn. "Hey baby" he says quietly trying not to wake Addison. "Hey" I say softly. "I'm really sorry I couldn't put her to bed" he says getting upset. "Hey it's ok Shawn. She'll understand" I say lovingly. He gets into bed after getting changed and cuddles into me. "I love you" he says. "I love you too" I say tiredly. He kisses my forehead and we both fall asleep.
~~next morning~~
I'm cooking breakfast with Shawn behind me and we hear Addison coming through the hallway. "Hey Addi" Shawn says lovingly going towards her. She looks at him and walks away. "That wasn't very nice Addi, give your dad a hug" I say. "No I hate him" she says stubbornly. "What" Shawn says sadly. "ADDISON!" I yell. "What mama I do" she says confused. I look over to see Shawn with tears in his eyes. "You do NOT hate your father. Tell him you are sorry this instant" I say getting angry. "Sorry daddy" she mumbles. Shawn just walks into the other room. "Go to your room Addi" I say following Shawn. "Baby are you ok" I say walking into the family room. "I didn't mean to be late last night. I'm sorry" he sobs. "Shawn baby it's not your fault. She just doesn't understand" I say hugging him. "I'll go talk to her" I say getting up. I walk into Addison's room and see her playing with her toys. "Addison come here" I say sitting on her bed. "What mama" she says sitting down beside me. "What you said to your father was very rude. You made him really sad. He didn't mean to be late last night, he had to stay at work." I say. "I didn't mean to make him sad" she says with tears in her eyes. "Will you go tell him that? And tell him you sorry while you're at it" I say rubbing her back. She just nods and walks out. I give them about 5 minutes and I walk into the kitchen to see them working on breakfast together. "Everything ok now?" I question. Shawn looks over to me with a smile on his face and nods. I smile and walk over to them and hug them both then we all start cooking breakfast together.
