Kintes pulled a large sack into the White Castle kitchens. The chefs pulled out two rabbits and four deer. "Dinner has arrived."

"I told you to take it easy." I came to my feet and quickly inspected Kintes's bandage across his chest. There was no fresh blood, so I assume that means it was healing.

"This was me taking it easy." He raised an eyebrow and grinned. I scoffed and rolled my eyes before resting on the pillows in front of the fire place. Kintes sat beside me and I leaned my head on him. He folded his wings around me, and we watched the fire together.

I felt his heart beating strong, and it caused me to wonder.

"... How did you survive?" I cautiously asked. "You were stabbed... I mean, we caught you before you hit the ground, but still... I felt you die."

"I put your pain before my own." He answered. "I needed to live. Something was there and helped me get away from the light."

I nodded and went back to watching the fire. The flames flickering and the wood snapped crisply.

"Zepth?"

"Hm?" I absently sighed.

"I think you should know..." He inhaled. "I'm... also a Dark Dragon..."
