Kendall's POV

I sat at the hospital my knee bouncing wildly as Kale sat next to me his head buried in his hands.

"The family of Kiara Jones." I jumped up as Kale stood up next to me. "Follow me."

The small nurse quickly led us down the halls of the hospital as I nervously bit my nails preparing for the worst.

Coma.

Broken bones.

All of that great stuff.

"Here is her room, the doctor is in their to talk to you." She said her eyes never meeting mine as she hurried away.

"She's probably in a coma." I said as Kale opened the door. My eyes widened at the sight in front of me.

"Oh my god, Kiara." Kale whispered as he walked over next to the hospital bed where Kiara was. The room was deadly silent making the tears roll down my face.

Kiara's body was covered from the neck down but her face was deadly pale her eyes closed.

"She did die." I whispered and Kale pulled me into his chest hugging me tightly as I cried.

"Didn't our nurses call you?" The doctor asked and I nodded my eyes closed tightly.

"I didn't believe her." I whispered blocking out the world.

After Kiara had ran out of the police station she had committed suicide. She had overdosed on pills that I am not sure of nor did I care what pills she did overdose on.

It's all my fault she committed suicide. If I wouldn't have been so preoccupied with Katie being gone she would still be here. I should have focused on what was right in front of me instead of trying to do the police's job by finding Katie.

I let out a sigh as I pulled away from Kale wiping my tears away.

"I need to get some air." I whispered walking out of the hospital room as fast as i could. I sat down on one of the benches outside of the hospital. I put my head into my hands closing my eyes to refrain myself form crying.

Why did I have to care so little about Kiara?

I should have spent more time with Kiara and talked to her about what she was feeling.

I should have asked if she was okay more often.

I started to cry the tears no longer being able to be held back. I felt the bench dip with the weight of a person sitting next to me.

"Somebody die?" I looked over to see a boy sitting down on the bench watching the people leaving and arriving.

"Yes, somebody did die." I spat glaring at the boy.

"Sorry, didn't mean to sound so rude." He said with a small smirk. He had dark brown hair as well as dark brown eyes.

"Well, it did." I said looking away from him and crossing my arms over my chest.

"My name is Nat." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"I don't care." I said and he winced.

"Ouch." He said and I looked over at him with a smirk.

"Sorry, didn't mean to be rude." I said and he smiled at me trying to act shocked.

"Are you mocking me?" He asked and I nodded.
