Misha's POV:

The moment the engagement was over, me and Zoya made a run for it. We said our goodbyes to Rubab who whispered to us that she was coming over to stay at Zoya's place once she was free from here. We gave a silent nod before leaving. Zohaib was releasing a dangerous aura but it was subtle compared to the air around Ibraheem and Kamran who looked like they were going to lunge at us any second.

The moment it was announced that the food was set, we took the commotion as our cue to escape. We sat down in Zoya's car, grabbed Mc Donald's on the way back and surprised Zoya's mother by arriving before our curfew. On our ride back, we kept looking back to see if any suspicious cars were following us. We stated that the reason for coming back early was because I suddenly got period cramps and had to come back. We could never tell them that our blast from the pasts had decided to drop a bomb on us on Rubab's engagement.

Exactly 3 hours later, Rubab, Zoya and I were sitting on Zoya's bed cross legged, quite literally holding our head in our hands. We sighed heavily as we looked at the bed sheets in exhaustion. I was the one to break silence.

"Mujhe tou samajh nahi araha Ibraheem kidher se tapak para udher. Matlab mujhe khawab ana tha k Rubab k mangetar ka dost nikal ayega woh. Dunya itni chothi kaisi hosakti hai? (I still can't comprehend how Ibraheem just popped up there. I mean, it wasn't even in my wildest dreams to guess that Ibraheem would end up being the friend of Rubab's fiancée.)" I sighed deeply as I pulled my hair back.

"Hain?! Woh Zohaib ka dost hai? Kya? Kaisay? Kyun? Usko wohi mila tha dost bhanane k liye? (What?! He is Zohaib's friend? What? How? Why? Zohaib just had to befriend him of all people?) Rubab replied, surprise masking her face while she processed the information and then Zoya dropped bomb number two on her.

"Agay tou suno. Kamran ne mujhe Anushay bola hai. ANUSHAY. (Keep listening. Kamran called me Anushay. ANUSHAY.)" Zoya said while Rubab's face morphed into shock. "Mujhe tou yeh nahi samajh arahi k kisi ko Anushay wali baat ka nahi pata sewai tum logon k aur meri family k tou usko kaise pata chal gaya? (I just can't understand how he knows about this when literally nobody knows about this except you two and my family members.)" Zoya exhaled sharply in defeat.

"WHAT? HE CALLED YOU ANUSHAY?" Rubab choked on her sprite. "What even is happening? How does he even know about that?"

"I have no clue. Literally none." Zoya answered truthfully. "Abbu made sure that there was no record of that left anymore." I was deep in thought until I noticed a look on Rubab's face I knew all too well. She was nervous like she was holding something in.

"Rubab? What's wrong? You looked pale when we were leaving the engagement and you look anxious right now too. What's up? The engagement went smoothly right?" I knew she was bothered by what happened to us but there was something else. She looked like she wanted to say something. Taking two semesters in psychology had one huge benefit. I was able to read faces quite nicely.

"It went smoothly and I wish it hadn't." Rubab's reply confused both me and Zoya who looked at each other before looking at her again to continue. "That Zohaib, something about him is off. He whispered something to me which scared the crap out of me."

"What did he say?" Zoya questioned as she sipped her Fanta.

"I don't know if I misheard him or something but he said something like 'ab tou tum meri hogaye ho, kahin bhi kabhi nahi jannay dena menay tumhe.' (Now that you are officially mine, I am not going to let you go anywhere at all now.)" Rubab gulped and we all went silent. "Thing is, I don't get why he is saying that. I hardly know him apart from the picture my parents showed me and the stalking I did of him on Facebook. We aren't even friends on any social media sites yet. It's just downright creepy for him to say something like that."
