Escaping in the remnants of L'manburg was easy, especially with Dream and his men continuing the chaos. The two of you snuck through the dust and rubble and snuck towards the docks where you planned to escape by water. That plan quickly changed when an older man, one in a bloodied green short sleeved kimono with a black turtleneck underneath. He also wore a green and white striped bucket hat. He looked on the edge of hysteria, searching around for someone, anyone. You had no idea who he was. He was a complete stranger to you but Techno seemed to know who he was almost immediately. 

"Phil?" Techno's voice wavered, like he'd just seen a ghost. The man is armored but he looks distraught, on the brink of tears as he meets Techno's eyes.

"Techno?" He asked weakly. "Techno I-I- What did you do?"

"I can't explain now, Phil we have to move!" Techno's eyes scan the area and he sees Eret and Fundy searching the area not far away. He grabbed Phil's arm and dragged him behind him, trusting you to follow behind. You keep your sword drawn, ready to attack anyone who tried to get in the way of your escape.

Techno ran through the forest instead of taking the ocean path with his trident, he couldn't take both of you with the trident so running through the forest was all he could think to do. When you were far enough into the forest Techno stopped running, letting go of Phil's arm and letting the man breathe. You were all panting harshly, struggling to catch your breath.

"Phil?" Techno asked quietly, You could hear his voice waver and Phil, the man who'd taken him in so long ago, met his eyes and sighed quietly.

"What the hell happened, Techno?"

"I... They betrayed us, Phil they-" Techno swallowed hard, his hands in tight fists as he took out a shuddering breath. "They knew what my goal was, they knew and they didn't fucking care, Phil. I gave them everything and they had my weapons and my armor. Tommy knew, Phil, he knew and he didn't even care-"

Phil's heart broke as Techno shattered in front of the two of you, his hurt finally bubbling over as his anger dissipated. Your heart ached, you'd never seen him like this, when you had died you saw tears but he was angry, distraught and bloodthirsty. Now he was just.... heartbroken. Phil pulled Techno into his arms, wincing as Techno's arms brushed over his wings.

Phil ran a hand through his hair, rocking slightly as Techno shifted out of his pig form, shrinking into Phil's arms. You stood awkwardly, your own emotions swirling around like a hurricane inside of you. You didn't know who Phil was, though Techno definitely did.

"Techno?" You asked weakly, your voice wavering as you struggled to keep yourself from breaking down completely. You didn't want to have a breakdown in front of Techno or the man who was his best friend and a complete stranger to you.

Techno glanced up at you, his eyes glossy. "We- we should probably go home before night falls." Techno tightened his grip on Phil for a moment before he pulled away and you could see Phil had tears in his own eyes.

"You haven't introduced me to your friend." Phil murmured, glancing over at you with a weak smile.

"Oh, Uhm.." You gave him your name and a wobbly smile. "I'm... a-a.."

"she's my partner." Techno interrupted, threading his fingers through yours and giving your hand a tight squeeze. "We can talk more in our base."

Phil nodded, though he gave you a look that was nothing less than fond. Techno lead Phil to your shared base, letting him go down into the base which he covered the entrance to as he went down the elevator into it. When you stepped into the base you pulled off your bloody capelet and set it on a chest in your room. You could hear Techno and Phil talking and you listened quietly, your heart dropping at the news that Wilbur was dead.
