It was a beautiful day in Mumbai. The Oberois were having breakfast together.

[Shivaay - S, Gauri - G, Rudra - Ru, Annika - A]

S: badi maa, how's the planning going

Jhanvi: not good shivaay, after the last board meeting, you know our fashion line is not very profitable. We need something new and edgy. I have been looking out for fashion designers but no one seems to understand our vision.

S: how about getting an international designer

Jhanvi: I have been thinking about that, I have shortlisted some good designers but you know it's gonna be hard. Our brand is still new internationally.

Daadi: Billu, Jhanvi, no business talk at the dining table

S: sorry daadi, Om where's Rudy? Is he still sleeping?

Ru: missing me bhaiyya? I know your days goes terribly if you don't see me

Rudra went and tried to hug his elder brother but he ended up getting smacked on his head

Ru: daadi... he's beating me over breakfast also now

OmPriyanka: stop crying rudra

They were busy chatting and eating when Gauri walked in

G: good morning everyone

Priyanka: good morning gauri di, what brings you here early in the morning? Going out with Om bhaiyya?

G: please, your Om bhaiyya has time only for his art. We have to go to an auction today. Are you done Omi? Also, Shivaay bhaiyya, the plans for your new building are ready, i'll bring them over tomorrow

S: oh great gauri, bade papa, dad let's set up a meeting tomorrow if you guys are available

Shakti: ofcourse

Om: miss gauri kumari sharma, let's go, i'm all yours

He held her hand, their fingers linked together and they walked away

Priyanka: how cute, they make such a nice couple no

Daadi: they sure do, i'm waiting for the day they decide to get married

Pinky: Shivaay, how are things between you and kiara? Are you guys getting along well?

S: yes mom, you don't need to ask me everyday you know. Anyway i have to go, badi ma let me know if you need any help with the designer

Pinky: mummyji do you think Kiara is well suited to be our daughter in law?

Daadi: Pinky, don't worry so much, we all have met her and the Vermas so many times over the years, this is a good alliance.

Shivaay was going to be married to Kiara Verma soon, well not soon, but the alliance was pretty much fixed. It was an arranged marriage, fixed because it would bring more respect, wealth and prosperity to both families. They had been in business together for a long time. 

Kiara was a single child, so obviously she would inherit her father's business. She never had any interest in business management and was a lawyer, Mr Verma needed a worthy son in law to take over the business after his retirement. After much deliberation and consent from both of them, this alliance was fixed. Shivaay and kiara asked for some time to get to know each other and decide if they wanted to get married or not. Mr verma was not heartless, he would never force his only child into marriage for the sake of business. Kiara was a capable lawyer, she was modern but she always believed in arranged marriage so she agreed.
