"We are really bad at having conversations that don't end on a sad note aren't we" my brother speaks up breaking the ice causing me to laugh but my laugh didn't last long when we both turn our heads to the doorway to watch our mother walk into the kitchen I physically tense up and I know my brother tries to remember how to play the part you could say

"Lucas Caldwell get off the island" our mother says not even looking at either of us but he was quick to jump off the island and sit in the chair next to me

We sat there in silence watching our mother rummage through the cabinets while out even trying to speak to us and after what felt like for ever and her going through ever cabinet twice and huffed in annoyance "I'll be back don't do anything don't break anything and Lucas make sure your sister doesn't leave to go hangout with those dirty pogue people" my mother demanded grabbing her sunglasses and keys and walking out the door

Once the door closes we both let out a sigh of relief we didn't know we had "so I'm going to over to the Cameron's and surprise Rafe that I'm home I don't care what you do because Brooklyn it's you and we both know moms going out to get drunk , high or fucked sooo I'll see you around" my brother said getting up taking my empty bowl and putting it in the sink

I only nodded in agreement standing up to give him one last hug "I'm glad your home" I said into the hug "and I promise you I won't let her send me away again" he replied back to me pulling away and messing up my hair before grabbing his car keys to finally take his car out of the garage

I felt like it had been sitting there for years ugh probably needs to go through a car wash for god sakes

Walking into the chatue engulfing the smell it always had but it wasn't a bad smell well to me at least

I found everyone sitting in the living room while JJ was in the kitchen making a sandwich "hello friends" I said as every acknowledged that I had walked in "JJ that bread had mold on it three days ago" pope said walking by to the living room "J that's gross please don't eat that" I said cringing at the boy still spreading peanut butter on the moldy bread

" it's fine I'll just pull off the bad parts plus mold is good for you it's just a natural organism" JJ went on to tell us as I went and sat next to Kie on the couch interested as to why John b hadn't woke up yet "JJ" kiara practically hissed at the boy who hurried over to us "hot damn let's do this" he said standing next to John b with his sandwich

"Wait what are we doing" I asked "we went out last night to a grave center place I guess and I found that in a crack of jb's great grandmothers tome" kie said questioning herself there at the end "oh okay" I nodded turning my attention back on John b

"Okay wait if Your bird that makes me bird shit" JJ commented as John b ripped open the package that did indeed read 'to bird' "JJ shut up" I glared at him as he smirked "anything for you princess" I once again brought my attention back to John b hiding my blushing checks so I didn't expose our secret
