6. His Deadly Betrayal

Mahi's Pov:

Why there's silence all of a sudden? I wonder.
Suddenly the door of my room burst open and my mom entered.
Her eyes were teary.
"What happened?" I asked
My heart is beating wildly. Why is it feeling like there is a bad news!?
My mother looked at me and said something.
It took me a good second to understand what she said.

She said ........................
"Amaan ne shaadi se inkaar kardiya"
(Amaan refuse to marry you)
I felt like I don't have energy in my body. I sat on the floor.
My brain stop working, my heart stop beating. The blood flowing in my veins freezes.
It seems like my world collapsed.
I looked at her and asked "Aap jhooth bol rahi hain na? Aisa kaise ho sakta hai!!
(You're lying right? This can't happen!)
I still can't be able to believe it.
"Amaan k walida ki call aayi thi tumhare papa k paas, vo log nikaah k liye nahi aaenge" she replied while crying.

(Amaan's mother called your father. She said they'll not come)

"But (hiccups) wh... why?"
Till now I wasn't crying coz I believe this can't happen.
Maybe my mother was pranking me or something.
But now I starts tearing up.
"Unhone kahaa k Amaan ko Rabia pasand hai tum nahi. Woh shuruwaat se Rabia se shaadi karna chahta tha" my mother said while sobbing.

(She said Amaan likes Rabia, not you. He wanted to get married to her from the very start)

Fresh tears are flowing from my eyes. My breathing become uneven.
I felt tightness in my chest.
I can't be able to breathe properly.
My mind went blank.
I'm not being able to process what is happening and why is it happening.
"Na...nah...nahi, aisa
nahi (hiccups) bol sak...sakta vo. Lemme call him" I said while hiccuping.
My mother left me in my room. She went out while crying.

I take a deep breathe
"Calm down Mahi, calm down."
"Relax! Aisa kuch nahi h"
"Amaan ko call karo sab thik hojaega"
(Lemme just call Amaan, everything will be fine)
"Relax! Don't panic".
"Vo mujhse bohot pyaar karta hai, he loves me alot"
"Vo mere sath aisa nahi karega"
(I know he will not betray me)
"Calm down"
"Stop crying"
I said to myself to be calm.
I know he can't do this. We love each other. He's my world. He will not do this dirty act to me.
It was a one sided love, he himself approached me so how can he do this now.
It's all misunderstanding. I'm sure.

I dial Amaan's number.

Mahi: Hel....hello Amaan. Tum aare ho
na?
(You're coming right?)

Amaan: What? Tumhe abhi tak khabar
nahi mili kya? Meri amma ne call to ki thi. (scoffing)

(You don't got the news yet? I'm
sure my mother already called your parents)

Mahi: Tum aisa kaise kar sakte ho!? Finally I yelled at him.

Amaan: Oh please don't start your drama now. Yes, I don't want to marry you. And I love Rabia. Tum khud zabardasti mere peeche padi huyi thi. I and Rabia love each other so please.

Mahi: Leki..lekin you yourself proposed
