32. My Fate Betrays Me

Saif's Pov:

I wake up feeling empty beside me on the bed then I remember Mahi is not here.
I sighed.
The first thing I do is to dial her number.
"Hello" her voice came.
I close my eyes.
I can listen this voice 24/7 without getting bored but the problem is Mahi don't talk much. She's not
much talkative. She's not much expressive.
She don't express her love or liking much, that's why till now she
didn't say a love you back to me. But I know she loves me, her actions define it. Her eyes hold love for me.

"Hello?" she again said.
"Hello meri jaan" I finally reply.
"You wake up so early?" She asked.
"How can I sleep when you
are not here with me!" I exclaimed.
"I will come back tomorrow" she said.
"Hmm, but tumhe dekhe
bina mera din shuru nahi hota. Tumhara nazar aana ilaaj hai dil ka, mayassar raha karo taake main jee sakun" I said.
"I miss you too. Now stop otherwise I will feel bad" she said.
"No Mahi it's just that your absence is killing me. Please come
home today, I am craving for your hug. I want you close to me." I said.
"It's not like we are going to
be apart forever, don't overthink much. I will surely come tomorrow" she said.
"But don't know why I am not feeling good. It feels like something
bad is going to happen. Idk, why but..." I said.

"Saif, you are overthinking. And you are feeling so because this
is the first time I am not there with you after marriage so maybe
that's why you are being sad, nothing else. Don't think much" she said.
I hummed in response.
I think she is right. She's not here that's why I am feeling down.
"Ok, I am going to have breakfast now" she said.
"Bye, I love you" I said.
"Bye" she said.
"Atleast say love you too" I said acting irritate.
"Nope" she laughed.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Some other day" she said.
"Keh do Mahi, kya ho agar zindagi ye kehne ki mohalat na de" I said.

(Say it Mahi, what if life doesn't give respite?)

"I am hanging up. Bye" she hung up.

After doing my morning routine.
I went downstairs to have breakfast. Today we took a day off.
I, Zohair bhai, Papa, Mummy, Huma Aapi and Arbaz bhai we all sat together.
After having breakfast, I went towards living room.
Papa is watching news on the TV.
Later, Zohair bhai also join us.
After some times his phone rang. He pull it out from his pocket.
"It's Mr. Kashif" he said.
(Mr Kashif is the person whom we collaborate with)

I furrowed my brows. Why is he calling? We already talked about everything.
Zohair bhai attend his call.
After few minutes, a little worry came on his face.
He hung up the phone.
I and papa looked at him in a questioning gaze.
"He cancelled the deal" Zohair bhai said.
The words escape from his mouth and my mind become stiff.
I couldn't be able to process anything.
"Why?" I asked.

"I don't know he didn't said anything much, he just told me that there are some mistakes and errors in the presentation" Zohair bhai said.
"But they themselves looked after the presentation carefully so how come they are finding mistakes in it now" papa said.
"I don't know" Zohair bhai said.
"We even invest half of the money in it. How can they step down now!?" Papa said.

"Lemme go to their office. I wanna talk to him face to face. He is doing it on purpose. Bloody betrayer" I said.
I got up and grab my keys.
"Saif, wait I am also coming with you" Zohair bhai said.
"No, I can go by myself" I said.
Anger surpass my mind. I am so much angry that I can kill anybody right now.
I sat in the car and depart
from my home.

How can this happen!? I worked day and night to get the deal.
I was the incharge of this project. How can they cancel the
deal after agreeing on it.
Anger surpass my mind.

I icrease the speed of the car to reach their soon.

Mahi's Pov:

I was sitting in my room looking into my wardrobe.
My phone rang, I looked at caller ID.
It was Saif.
We talked for few minutes.
My mother voice came from downstairs. She is calling me for breakfast.
I said to Saif that I am going to have breakfast.
He said bye and I love you.
I smiled.
He made me feel loved. He is the best person of my life.
I love him more than anything.
I know he wants to hear a love you too from me.
But I didn't said it to him yet.
While talking he said something which shook my heart for a second.
