Chapter Three

Mason Black

I stepped foot onto Redwood Territory just as Steve did, he's also in his wolf form and followed by some while his trucks follow mines. The second we stepped foot on this land, three wolves came out and once they got the memo that we are the Alphas that will help theirs they lead us to their pack house.

I feel something in the pit of my stomach but shrug it off, Levi is annoyingly excited for no reason so I block him off for a bit.

We get onto their pack house territory so all of us in wolf form stop to shift and change. I slip on what I had on and step out of the trees to see a beautiful huge house with smaller ones surrounding it and lots of open area.

A hand slaps me on the back and I see its Steve, he stands next to me sighing
"I got your back bro" He says, I smile nodding
"Boys! You all made it!" We look up to see Uncle Drew making his way towards us with a big smile. My Dad steps forward smiling big as well, they hug laughing

"Good to see you again Drew" Dad says
"Good to see you too Derek" Drew says then he looks at Steve and me
"Uncle Drew, how have you been" Steve says going over for a hug
"Good, better now that you all are here" He says, I go hug him as well

"Come on everybody! You're all welcome here! Make yourselves at home!" He says loudly to the two packs, so Steve and I turn around to address our packs
"Black Moon! Redwood pack is letting us stay in their guests houses so be respectful and treat it like your own! Go make yourselves comfortable" I say in my Alpha tone letting Levi out a little bit, Steve says something similar to his pack and both packs nod and split.

Our packs are familiar with each other since Steve and I are always doing things together since we are family so some of our members mix up with each other

"Follow me to my study" Drew tells my Dad, Steve, Josh, Dennis, Kevin, Joan and me, Kevin is Steves beta and Joan is his lead warrior. We all follow behind him and my Dad, Levi is annoying me again jumping around and looking around so I close him off again.

"Hows Lily?" I ask Kevin, Lily is his mate, they found each other when they turned 16 since they are in the same pack and were near each other when they first shift and are able to find their mate that day. He smiles nodding
"She's good, didn't want me to come but its my job so she's worried" He says, I nod
"Have you found your mate Mason?" Joan asks getting into the conversation, I shake my head

"Didn't find her last mating season, hopefully I will in the one that's coming up" I say, he nods
"Same bro" He says then we step inside the study

"Mandy and Sarah will be here in a bit" Drew says, we nod looking around
"So how many threats have happened?" I ask, he sits sighing
"About three, the last one was the fourth" He says
"They all happened when Sarah was alone?" Dad asks
"Well, when she's not on pack house territory" Drew says
"Have they all had fog?" Steve asks

"Yeah" A voice says making us turn around to see Aunt Mandy and a beautiful girl my age with long brown hair and beautiful glowing skin next to her, Sarah.
"Im sure you boys remember Mandy, and that's my daughter Sarah" Drew says
"I remember Mandy but Sarah, damn time flies" Steve says
"Agreed, I havent seen you two in years" She says smiling, a beautiful smile, wait what am I saying
"What happened to your braces?" I tease, she glares at me making me chuckle at how cute she looks, wait what? Snap out of it Mason, I look back at Drew

"So, fog, off pack house territory. Anything else? Anything strange?" Dad asks
"Well, theres always a voice. A like, whisper, that tries to say something but instead it leaves a note that always says the same thing" Sarah says, my Dad nods taking in the information
"I'll talk with Rose and the goddesses to try and figure out what it could be. For the time being, Black Moon and Red Moon will be able to provide safety for Redwood" He tells Drew, who nods

"Thanks Derek, tell Rose as well" He says, Dad looks at Steve and me
"You two are Alphas so you two need to make sure everything goes smoothly and if you need anything contact us" He tells us, we nod
"We've been Alphas for 6 months now Dad. We got this" I say
"Yeah Uncle Derek, we got this" Steve says, Dad chuckles nodding
"Good, now I'm headed back. Keep us updated" He says then leaves in wolf speed back home

"So, you guys know what you'll be doing?" Drew asks us, we nod
"We will set some of our warriors to keep watch around the pack house, more around the whole territory and we will keep an eye on Sarah and watch out for anything weird" I say

"Wait a minute, I don't need babysitters" Sarah says
"Sarah, they arent babysitting you. Just protecting you" Drew says
"Yeah Sarah, it'll be like when we were kids. We always watched over you" Steve says shrugging, she groans
"I'm nineteen! I don't need to be watched over anymore" She says

"Too bad, we aren't letting anything happen to you" I say, she looks at me and something in me just feels alive as her beautiful hazel eyes stare into my eyes. I snap out of it quick letting out a sigh

"Uncle Drew, where will we be staying?" I ask
"Upstairs, Sarah will show you the rooms" He says, she sighs but leads us out of the study and up some stairs
"Thats my room so its off limits" She says pointing to a door on our right
"These room are all available for you guys to choose" She says pointing to one across from hers and five more down the hall

"I take this one" I say opening the one across from hers
"Mason what do you want us to do?" Josh asks
"Relax for a bit, shower if you want, I know I am. Then we will all meet outside to address our warriors" I say, he nods
"Alright so an hour?" Dennis asks, I nod
"An hour" I say looking at Steve who nods then they each choose a room
"Thanks Sarah" I say, she nods as I open the door to the room and step inside

"I'll bring you some towels, I just remembered we didn't put fresh ones in that room" She says
"Okay, I'll leave the door unlocked then" I say then she leaves and I go inside. I go to the bathroom taking my shirt off then turning the shower on, I strip down and step inside the warm water. The bathroom gets steamy quickly, the glass around the shower fogs up so I cant really see anything around me anymore

"Mason?" Sarah calls out
"The shower" I say as I wash off the shampoo
"The towels will be on the sink" She says, I can hear her heartbeat pick up as she steps foot inside the bathroom, I smirk a little
"You can join me if you want" I joke
"Ew no" She says and leaves closing the door as I laugh shaking my head to myself
